I wonder how this year's setup will compare to last year's, seeing as they are using more land this year, and there are rumors of 2 Centeroo's (to make things nice and easy when you're all f***ed up. So I'll meet you at Centeroo? No problem! )
Screw that. Make Centeroo larger I can see but two would get too insane. I liked being able to wander to various tents to see witch band I wanted to sit down and watch. Two would be a huge pain in the rear.

Man, I forgot how lucky we were to get the camping spot we got. And now that I know where Jeri Curl is, I really sympathize with all the folks who camped there.
HEY! I camped in Jeri Curl last year.. it really was not that bad. Took awhile to walk to Centeroo, sure, but overall it was a nice spot... didn't mind the walk.

I couldn't agree more. I had enough trouble navigating my way through the place when there was only one Centeroo! I was just reporting what I've heard...
I just compared the '02 map and the '03 map out of curiosity. I don't have a link (anybody?), but they are printed in the CD and DVD covers if you have those.
It was interesting how much larger Centeroo was in '03. I thought it seemed considerably harder to navigate but wasn't sure how much my own state of mind was contributing to my confusion. I also thought things were arranged a bit worse last year. For example, the cinema tent was kind of out in the middle of nowhere last year while the DJ's in the Arcade tent were right next to the stage.
A double Centeroo would definitely cut down on your ability to get back and forth to the shows you want to see quickly. Does anyone have any idea what the source is on this rumor?
Ideally the stages should be as close together as possible while allowing for good sound seperation. In '02 it was cool that if you were in one of the tents, you could look across and see the other tent while the sound was totally seperate. In '03 things where a bit more spread out and hard to navigate but quite acceptable.

Sorry, KC -- just meant that I'd heard the walk was long. I heard a great story on the listserv about a mid-20s couple who met a mid-70s couple while staying in Jeri Curl last year, and this year they're all headed to Roo together! So Jeri Curl must have made up in good vibes what it lacked in nearness to Centeroo.
Thanks so much for the map! What I have a hard time understanding is why Centroo isn't just that...in the center. Wouldn't it be better if they had camping all around the village instead of to one side? Am I reading the map incorrectly or do they have additional accomodations for -say- performing artists around the back?
The only thing I can think of Kainani is that there were Bonnaroo toll booths setup at the entrance points ... to allow for vehicle checks, ticket takers, etc.
