I'm excited to hear everyone's thoughts as the shows start! I'm assuming with a production as large as he's known for means that he doesn't really change up the setlist much, right?
The setlist was a little conservative; I would have loved him to do Shine On, some older solo stuff, or another song or two off The Wall. Goodbye Blue Sky, Hey You, Run Like Hell, ot Mother would all fit very well into this set although after how long that tour was I totally understand keeping it limited. I'm hoping that as the tour progresses he starts adding things or rotating some songs in and out.
All of the solo songs he did sounded great, especially Déja Vu, which I think ranks as one of his best "ballads"
The Lucius ladies killed it as always. Jonathan Wilson sings pretty much all of the Gilmour parts and knocks it out of the park. Doesn't try to sound like David - a little more American - but I loved it.
Roger also sounded great, although when he would speak to the crowd towards the end his voice was a little hoarse, so I'm hoping he has good coaching to get him through this whole tour.
I won't say too much about the staging/video, but there's some holdover from the Mexico/Desert Trip shows that I was happy to see.
Highlights for me: Time/Breathe (Reprise), Déja Vu, Dogs, Pigs, Brain Damage/Eclipse, but there wasn't a bad moment in the set.
EDIT: Also, the amount of middle aged white men I heard complaining about the anti-Trump stuff after the show gave me a good laugh.

Quick report with no song spoilers.
So the show was really great. The visuals are stunning though if you saw the Wall tour, I'd give that one a slight edge. But that was the most visually engaging show I may have ever seen.
Roger sounded great and the song selection was near perfect. I wish he sang more, the David Gilmour guy got a whoooole lot of time. But he didn't sound bad! just a quibble.
I heard some people walked out due to some anti-Trump stuff in Act 2. And if you were a Trump supporter, I would totally get it because the show is ruthless for that 15 minutes or so. But everyone in my section was chill and loved the show. Had a guy who stood up after every classic song and put his hands in the air like he was going to church.
All in all, if you're a Pink Floyd fan it would be pretty tough not to have a good time.
I gotta wait till 7/23 to catch him for the first time but I completely agree with those in this thread about the Trump shit. Just let him do his thing and enjoy the show. If you started disliking artists based on their thoughts about Trump you would dislike basically every artist on the face of the earth. Who cares, go for the music and just enjoy it.
Best free concert ever. Wow. Started off pretty slow. I don't know how to use the spoiler tag so I'm just gonna be really vague and say the second half is way better than the first in every sense. Didn't really see a ton of people leaving during the Trump stuff (surprising in Missouri) but heard a bit of booing. Overall stellar show. My only complaint was that the backing band did a ton at times he was doing very little. I get that he didn't sing lead all the time but there were some songs that just sounded like a pretty good Pink Floyd cover band because of how little he did, especially in the first half. But it was an honor to be in the presence of such a creative force whose sphere of influence is immeasurable
Saw him in LA on tuesday. Dead sober and it was the best fucking show I've ever seen by far. I'm not even a massive Pink Floyd fan but I was just blown away by the musicianship and visuals. 10/10 show. Also god damn his backup singers have my heart.
5.5/four tet, daphni b2b floating points, avalon emerson 5.12/neil young 5.19/mannequin pussy 5.21/serpentwithfeet 5.25/hozier 6.12-16/bonnaroo 6.28/goose 6.29/goose 9.17/the national + the war on drugs 9.23/sigur ros 9.27-29/making time 10.17/air
Speaking of which, just saw him Tuesday night in Tampa. I felt like the first half of the show was sorta slow, but the second half really blew me away.
Seeing him from the floor next week, will be interesting to see it from a different perspective.
Well this seems a bit of a reach.... and I don't think it was propaganda. Unless you're pro-trump, then maybe? But it mostly just seemed like pretty standard Roger Waters politics.
"As for what Waters might say to someone who's looking for escapism rather than politics at a rock concert, the musician didn't mince his words. "Go see Katy Perry, you know?" he said.". CNN

Last night was probably the best show production I've ever seen. I was front row at the furthest back section slightly off from the middle and I thought it was the best spot in the arena.

So so so great to hear. That's exactly where I'm sitting for the Boston night 1 show.

for reference, I was 201, but none of them are bad seats
What do you guys think of the Tel Aviv ban and his beef with Thom Yorke? I don't really consider myself well versed on the whole issue so I'm not going to really preach which side is right. I do think Anthony Fantano had some great points though

I've been going back and forth on it. On the bigger picture I tend to lean towards Roger's side (not to get to into politics) but I do kind of see where Thom and other artists who play there are coming from.
However I think the "Well we disagree with American politics and we play there all the time" defense that Thom has used is a false equivalency.
My position would be that if you're going to play, use that opportunity to speak out
