When you make a guess for these clues, pretend you had the band first and were instructed to make a clue for it. Try to see the steps the cluemaker took. Imagine this for all of these guesses. Aptbs is the only one that makes such perfect sense. Its so easy that they could have said "how can the word strangers be used differently? Oh how about the movie? Since, its not that famous of a movie, we need to give a pretty obvious second part of the clue. Hmm this band name isn't very specific about where they bury strangers. Lets comment on that and use it as a way to lead people to this band."
I like that movie. A horror movie that can build tension with a soundtrack of Joanna Newsom, Billy Bragg & Wilco and Gillian Welch deserves some kind of extra credit.

Dude, we get it. You came up with A Place to Bury Stangers, and it's a really good guess.

Could be either. Wasn't up on A Place to Bury Strangers, checking them out on youtube now. Pretty awesome stuff, even if it's not them, glad this clue lead me to listening to them.
I am surprised you have not heard of them since they are from Brooklyn. I saw them play several years ago, and they are the loudest band I have ever heard. It is a wave of sound that goes through you.
Imagine dragons - Their last album (smoke + mirrors) is a 2010 scary movie and they had an associated publicity stunt for buried treasure (instruments & show tickets) with a clue on the album cover.

Well someone was going to guess that eventually anyway ..
It's not Carrie Underwood. I would assume a pop-country fan such as yourself would want it to be her.
I'm not a pop country fan but I think it's her. She fits the clue pretty well and better then the other names I've seen suggested.
Right, but I cannot fathom the festival producers thinking this is a good idea. The fallout would have consequences for years. It was one thing to try country artists such as Kasey Musgraves who have more artistic appeal and don't cost a boatload of money. There is no better answer to the clue than her though.

I mentioned earlier in the thread, but i think it would be a safe year to take the risk if we're right about the other 3 in the top 4. Bonnaroo is eventually gonna get a country headliner and we are missing this years mainstream headliner as it stands.
PJ - Dead and Co - Underwood - LCD would be pretty safe. You have you're huge stadium rock band(PJ), you have your Bonnaroo vet/jam band/legend act(Dead), you have your mainstream pop act(underwood) and you have your festival goer wet dream reunion act(LCD). I think the PJ - Dead - LCD combo is good enough for Bonnaroo they can take the "risk" on underwood and tap into the country market.

While I don't think the answer is Carrie Underwood, I do think there is something to the idea that "A Scary Flick" references an actual movie title, rather than a genre. That really expands the world of answers.
Sort of... This is a spinner article stolen and slightly modified from my original one to throw off the google filters, hence the horrific grammar. Unfortunately, it's an occupational hazard that's not really easily dealt with. This is the original.
SupeЯfuЯЯyanimal I like the place to bury strangers guess, but much like clue 6, i don't think they will put part of the bands name in the clue.
I would agree if it was something more obvious. Like having "rage" be part of a clue for RATM or "hall" for Hall and Oates. The movie and the band are obscure enough that having one word that leads directly to the band isn't unbelievable. It certainly didn't stick out to many people.
Look at the pictures from last year. Several of those images aren't even clues, especially compared to the ones from '14, as much as strait forward correlations with the band names. Glass Animals, Bleachers, Houndmouth and Flume are all examples. Robert Plant and Trampled by Turtles also, just to a lesser degree. I don't see that as being much different then having part of the band's name in a clue this year. At least not enough to completely rule out one band over the other.

Good points. Although I'm keeping my prediction for the clue on underwood.
This guy gets it. That show in a late night slot might be the death of me though.
Yep, one of the only times I have felt so overwhelmed at a show and I was mostly sober.
Oh man. I can only imagine the time someone would have if they walked into that tent intoxicated expecting some EDM and then having that unleashed on them.
Sticking with the movie title idea, Brian DePalma had a suspenseful movie (I've never seen it) called "Passion." I don't know if it is scary, or not. Trailer looks kinda cheesy.
Another crazy idea ... Flick (really Flik) was the primary ant character in A Bug's Life. A scary Flik might be an alien. When one dies, one "buys the farm."
