Will the cheering of Patrick Kane ruin the Blackhawks raising their third banner in 6 years? I say yes. Answer in 10 minutes.
I snagged Kane in the 2nd round of my fantasy draft (19th overall). If I win my league, it will be on the backs of everyone being too cautions on selecting a player with so much going on in the background. That said, I don't see the Hawks making the playoffs this year.
It's just a much more effective means of ending the shit show that is the shootout. I'll be ecstatic if I never see a shootout this season.
not only that, but the goals count. The points count. You'll see a rise in goals, and the recent struggle to see even 1 player score 50 in a season will become much more reachable. This is what I like most about it. They should make it 10 mins

Agree.
Side note-I love the crop of young talent around the league.

Totally agree with you on this point. It's great to see this young talent come into the league. I personally enjoy college hockey so seeing players come from there is great but I do love seeing players like McDavid help a team like the Oilers. Great quality draft class this past year. Makes me even more invested in the game.
Apologies for hijacking the thread but I'll be in Montreal on Oct 24 for the Habs game and wanted advice on getting a ticket please?
Thanks
I lucked out and had the Vallet at the hotel ask me if I needed tickets to the game last time I went. If you don't fall into some tickets, try stubhub I guess
there is not a single bad seat in that place. It's the best. Seating is pretty steep, and there's a rail across every row so you can lean out of your seat, elbows on the rail, and look down. I'd suggest getting a seat somewhere along the sides, and not behind the nets
disco2000, I just realized that the 24th is Habs leafs. I hope you're aware how much that'll run ya.
Well there starting at about 80 Usd which is why I asked about the cheaper seats. It's possibly the only time I'll be in Montreal so worth going for I think.

Ta for you help hope I can get sorted.
I figured it'd be worse than that. Yeah, do it for sure. That crowd is quite a religious experience.
you'll be better than the Leafs. So there's that. Our division is the weakest in the league, I'm confident the Habs will be up top, with the Bolts, after that, it will likely be a battle between the Wings, Panthers and Sens,
Bruins should go all in on the rebuild and trade Chara now, or hope he doesn't get hurt and deal him at the deadline.
Pops, let's bring it in here. Really hope Caps keep Kuznetsov on the 1st line with Ovi and Oshie. 1. I have him in my pool. 2. Backstrom on the second line assures Caps have a legitimate potent secondary scoring, while further developing a budding star in Kuz.
Anyway, enough of that. Carey Price seems to have gotten better since last year, and the Habs could have skated their entire AHL roster with him in net and still have a winning record at this point. Difference is, Habs young studs are 1 year closer to their prime, they haven't effect any of their team Chemestry, and may have boosted it by the way Semin is playing with Eller and Galchenyuk. Our 3rd line is our only weak spot, but sven there we have our former 1st line Center who is highly under rated as a play maker, and a 4th line that can band and maintain puck possession. Jeff Perty and Nathan Bealeau are picking up where they left off last season, and all of a sudden the Habs have one of the best core of mobile Dmen in the league. All the Habs need is for Galchenyuk to emerge as a 1st line Center, and get a big D man to keep the front of the net clear for price, and the Habs can go s long way this year.
Agree with you on the first two lines. I think Oshie will have his best year ever playing off of the over-coverage Ovi gets. And Backstrom makes everyone look better. Just have to have MarJo and Williams be where they're supposed to be and they'll get scoring options, especially off of faceoffs. Two of the most underrated players in the NHL on that line.

I know it's early in the season, but I can't believe Edmonton has another shot at getting a top pick. Losing McDavid sucks but they might be contending next year with another top draft choice.
Also, it'll be interesting to see where Dallas ends up this year. They are looking sharp. Seguin is right up there with Kane with points
I feel so bad for Jon Scott. He was genuinely excited to play in the all star game. Now Arizona has traded him away, moving his whole family. Certainly the league had a hand in this. Now I don't even want to go to the all star game because I can't meet him.

It is official that he can't play?
Who knew "Vote for Rory" would lead to such shenanigans...
