This infamous stringdusters' cover of daft punk's get lucky is absolutely incredible. Throw on some good head phones for full effect. Amazing musicianship and arrangement.

i feel like a lot of the postmodern jukebox stuff is cool, but gimmicky.
but I love juxtaposition of them and NIN on this one. Groove-based jazz that totally changes the tone of the song. Plus as a glasses wearing dude who has been in a similar situation, I have no shame laughing at the singer crawling around trying to find his glasses after he headbanged them off at the end of the song.

I pre-ordered that a few weeks ago. I was sold after I heard the Pallbearer track but there's a lot of decent stuff like The Melvins, Year of the Cobra, Mark Lanegan and Sunflo'er.
That label is trying to pull together an Alice in Chains "Dirt" covers album, too. Not the biggest AiC fan but they announced Khemmis as the first band:
Apparently I like the cover so much I shared it with Pablo twice.
I'm not a huge pallbearer fan, but that's a good cover. I'm a sucker for anything Lanegan does too.
That AiC album may be pretty cool. At the time, they were my favorite of the Seattle bands (though I'm more in the PJ camp now). Layne Staley and Jerry Cantrell were just so different and complementary.
Punch Brothers recorded a cover of Let It Happen that...isn't terrible?
that turned out pretty great, I think. Punch Bros are all super talented and I have a total man crush on chris thile. They have made some great covers over the years. they seem to like radiohead.
