I love Nicole, but Pitt fan saying those teams are overrated is like you saying, Bama, Georgia and Auburn are overrated.
This is exactly my point. Your logic is dumb (as always). What does the quality of my team have anything to do with my ability to assess another team?
^^this
Yes we will probably not be able to beat any of those 3 teams and will probably lose to Youngstown State in the opener, but that doesnt mean I cant be objective in regards to my view of how other teams are ranked. If that wasnt the case I would always assume Pitt will go undefeated. Just happens that 2 of the 3 teams you listed are ACC and ND will always be overrated and until they prove some year that they arent overrated than I will continue to argue as they are. Not because I am a Pitt fan do I feel they are overrated, I feel they are overrated for pretty much the exact reasons Dave Maynar listed. Also, Pitt has beaten ND more recently than Clemson has if we want to use irrelevant facts for anything.

It just sounds silly. But the main point is that it's wrong. All of those teams will be pretty good.
"pretty good" is subjective. Im not saying that any of those teams will finish with a losing record, all will make a bowl game and 2/3 will finish in the top 25. Im not sold on Ga Tech at all and who knows what FSU will look like without Winston

Those teams and Clemson will be the best teams in the ACC. They'll all be in the top 25 at the end of the season. You didn't answer my serious question that I asked after the dig at Pitt. Who do you think will be good?
OSU and TCU should come back strong. TCU will be a victim of their schedule again. I like Auburn and Mich St also. Waiting to see how Russell looks at QB for Baylor before I make a judgement call there.
Pretty badass. Someone on twitter pointed out the Smoky Mountain silhouette on the back of the helmet, which I did not even notice at first.
Same. I saw the low quality leaks yesterday and just thought it was the way the light was shining off the helmet. I kind of wonder if they went low on the change this year with the home and away since its the first year and they didn't want to freak out the fanbase. One detail I did like was the Tennessee state outline with My All printed on it that's inside the collar.

I haven't had a chance to dive into all of those details, but that is really cool. Other than the smoky gray, all of the changes I noticed to the regular football home and away were awesome yet subtle, which is smart by Nike given the traditional and reactionary tendencies of the fanbase, as you pointed out. The only thing I did not really like at first glance was the Men's bball unis. The numbers are tiny, and it just looks weird to me. I am sure people are going to freak out about the lack of blue in the women's bball unis as well, if they haven't already.

I think the baseball uniforms were the ones with really small numbers as well. It's a different choice, but nothing people won't get used to. Re: the Lady Vols, most of those people are probably still celebrating them being able to keep the name that they're not going to be as mad about the blue dropping out. From a more design focused eye, the grey looks better with the orange than the blue does anyway.

Three Tennessee players (Maggitt, Sutton, Barnett) made the Bednarik watch list. This ties Tennessee with Notre Dame and Oklahoma for the team with the most players on the list. link
Also, custeph, I have finally decided on how to choose on Clemson since I have been torn between hating them because of sang_xcx and liking them because of you. I will let them decide it on the field in early October. If they beat Notre Dame, you win. If they lose, you should probably look past my comments for a while.
In a odd situation pertaining to college football.
I'm a fan of Florida and Virginia Tech. My family is big Notre Dame fans...didn't like them growing up and I still don't. Started liking UF when I was 9 or 10 when Spurrier had them at the top of SEC, stuck with them. Virginia Tech has always been the big local program for me (and anybody else that lives in Southwest Virginia). I lived in Blacksburg for my first two years of college, guess that was when I really started following them.
I have been to about every some-what important VT game since I graduated high-school. Radford is only 20-25 mins away from Blacksburg. They play Ohio State on Labor Day night. I have night class on Monday this upcoming semester, and we don't get off for Labor Day. The professor of the class is who I work under for my GA position, and we have a good relationship (buy k-cups for each other because were the only ones that use the coffee maker in the office, drink together at the bar, etc). I'm pretty sure he will allow everybody in the class to miss at least once in the semester, but I don't want to be honest about the situation and him feel like I'm taking advantage of our relationship.

Pitt has two guys on the Maxwell watch list, Tyler Boyd and James Conner. Hail to Pitt, here's to a year where we finally don't underachieve!
BTW, true stat - since joining the Big East in 1981, Pitt has never (NEVER!) gone undefeated in the non-conference portion of the schedule. YSU, @ Akron, @ Iowa, Notre Dame - we want you!

Why don't you watch that game in person? I think that is an excellent idea. billybaroo will be there.

Wow. Tennessee actually has two (Dobbs and Hurd) on the Maxwell list as well.

Huh? Watson is the only guy from Clemson on the Maxwell list.
Alexander and Lawson did make the Bednarik list though.
Maybe they weren't nominated for awards, but those are 2 of the wr's that are going to have huge seasons. Mike Williams will be our latest Jr. wr to leave for the NFL.

Barnett and Maggitt also on the watch list for the Nagurski Award. Clemson has zero players on the list. bacon's guy, Wright, who is last year's recipient is also on the list. link
I hope the ACC media voters are correct this year.
Well there aren't 7 better players in the ACC than Tyler Boyd so they got one thing wrong. But yeah, I'd pick Clemson to win the ACC too. All will depend on Watson of course.
