Tennessee coach Butch Jones was involved in what a source called a “physical altercation” with an offensive lineman during fall camp.
Jones called the allegations “absolutely ridiculous” during his weekly Monday news conference, but a source close to the program said Jones and senior offensive lineman Mack Crowder were involved and that the incident was captured on the practice film that day.
The incident occurred during fall camp, about the time that news started to come out about a few offensive linemen who were considering stepping away from the program. Crowder walked off the practice field one day and missed a day or two of practice, and Brett Kendrick and Dylan Wiesman were said to be contemplating their futures. Sources say the players’ actions stemmed from an incident between Jones and Crowder.

just rumors right now. the guy that wrote that article is the guy who asked Butch about it at the presser. reading his twitter he seems like a dude with an axe looking for an angle. even that website looks like garbage.
Amid extensive flooding in the Columbia, S.C., area, SEC Network announced its decision to relocate this week’s broadcast of SEC Nation to Knoxville, Tenn., for Saturday’s game between Tennessee and No. 19 UGA. The program had originally scheduled South Carolina-LSU as its Week 6 stop, but network executives felt that the show’s celebratory atmosphere would be inappropriate given the circumstances.
“Our hearts go out to the South Carolina community as they recover from the devastating floods,” said Stephanie Druley, ESPN’s senior vice president of college networks production, in a statement. “We look forward to returning to South Carolina at a better time.”
SEC Nation will now set up in front of Tennessee’s Ayres Hall on “The Hill,” starting at 10 a.m. ET.

Rumors do abound in sports. Let's not forget the one about Kiffin a few weeks ago. I find it convenient that this story crops up right around the time that Jones is getting hammered on the field. Also, isn't Crowder the player that got arrested for theft this spring? He'd play a convenient target for an outburst from Jones. The part that is sketchiest to me is that it is supposedly on film. I don't know if it says it on this site, but I have heard Jones allegedly punched the player. I can't imagine that the university would have a coach on film punching a player and do nothing about it. That all being said, that's just my assumptions. Who knows? I don't remember hearing any rumors of Jones doing anything similar at previous coaching stops.

Ah... that makes sense. I don't know much about Jones or Tennessee in general so I didn't really know what to think after reading the article. Thanks.

That was Coleman Thomas.
I agree, though, I don't think this smoke has any fire.
I am starting to believe that Tennessee is cursed, and all the fans are being subjected to a long troll by God. Dooley obviously wasn't going to get it done, so the 5-7 seasons didn't hurt as bad because nobody honestly expected much better. With Jones, he brought a kind of hope that hadn't been seen in Knoxville in a decade only to have it extinguished by the shit show it seems this season is turning into.

"There’s been a lot of rumor and misinformation on social media and message boards about an alleged incident during football practice. It’s not our practice to respond to rumors, but I thought it was important to let you know that we’ve done our due diligence and Dave Hart and I are very confident there was no inappropriate conduct with any players or coaches." - University of Tennessee Chancellor Jimmy Cheek
The line on Tennessee-Georgia is 3? Georgia's season must be going even worse than I thought.
Even without the embarrassing loss last week: UGA-UT is historically close, game is in Neyland, and Tennessee isn't as awful as their record indicates. Line looks about right.

Before the Arkansas game, I would agree with you, but Arkansas ran all over Tennessee. It doesn't give me a ton of hope that they can stop Georgia's running attack, so the game doesn't have to be won by Lambert.

I have the same thoughts. Didn't think much of the losses to UF/OU....good teams in which they were leading late. That Arkansas game though, ugly.

Florida is only a 5 point favorite over Mizzu.
People still don't believe Florida is legit at all. There is also the matter of Missouri's backup making a good case to be the starter even when Mauk comes back.
