I'm a first timer, and have never driven down to TN. I'm thinking it will be 12.5 hours, plus maybe another hour or two if we decide to stop for a while along the way. So I think you're dead on with 13 hours.
And We really get there an hour earlier because of the time change! Which means either more time to drink....... Or an extra hour of sleep! (I'll take the Latter!)
Good to see other Canucks are in the first-time boat with me. Leafsfan, you say you're leaving around 3am, do you plan on napping during the day on Tuesday? Call me neurotic but ever since I decided to leave midnight Tuesday(/Wednesday) I have been having nightmares about passing out at the wheel come 5 or 6 in the morning. I'm countin on "Born to Run" to keep me going through those dark hours -- that and a nice nap on Tuesday afternoon.

Hey Carsoni4, We just decided the other day to leave early. I'm working on Tuesday, so I'm basically gonna work Tuesday, come home (maybe rollerblade - whatever helps me get tired), then go to bed as early as I can, wake up at 2-3, and leave shortly after.
As long as I get at least 6 hours of sleep on Tuesday night I'll be okay the next day until say 11-noon. After that who knows. I'm just hoping for the best. My gf is a pretty good driver, so if I'm too tired I'm sure she can take over for a bit.
Where are you coming from - and staying Wednesday night?
I'm coming from Toronto as well -- staying in Nashville Wednesday night. I'm aiming to get there around 2 local time. I'm still pretty sure I'm going to cross at Buffalo, I won't confirm that until I print out the directions tomorrow though. I just want to get out of Canada as soon as possible -- nothing worse than driving through hours of barren ghosttown Ontario before reaching Michigan, which is arguably even creepier than the stretch of Ontario before that.
Either way I'm pumped as hell, in a little over 24 hours I'll be on the road!
So varying difference of opinion here on borders to cross. Anyone who goes through Detroit. Do they move you through fast? Are they efficient in that respect? I would think Detroit is a faster moving border because its more populated with people coming and going. I agree that getting the heck out of Canada and ontario would be nice but Mapquest has said that the Detroit border is the quickest route. Sometimes they take into account weird things like Toll booths etc, but anyhow, we are using Detroit instead of Sarnia.......
Yeah when I was driving to Chicago last year for Lollapalooza, Mapquest sent me through Detroit as the "fastest route". They didn't take into account the nasty traffic I hit that set me back 2.5 hours. lol Basically, I'm just scarred from that experience and looking to avoid that city at all costs. Only about 27 hours to departure! Holy shit!

It's basically an additional 1/2 hour if you go through Buffalo. If you go through Detroit there's no back tracking - it's basically just south-east, then south south-east.
I prefer the shorter route, but I guess I see your point having a bad experience and all. If you're leaving before the sun is up I wouldn't worry about traffic.

Hey all you canucks out there! I am going out to the roo from Winnipeg. Last year it took us 24 hours to drive, totally worth it. I am hoping to meet many of you at the Sam Roberts show on thursday night!
Ok what a great idea! We have a whole thread going on Latenight or inforoo meetups. We should get one together for Inforoo Cannucks! I know me and hubby will be wearing our Canadian Top Hat, and I bought myself a Canda Jesters hat complete with bells on the tips. FOr all you looking for those crazy Cannuck hats we all seem to wear on Canada Day, they do sell them at the dollar story but I bought a nicer quality Top Hat and jester hat at Giant Tiger. GREAT SCORE and they were only 5 dollar s each. Think about it. Anyhow should we make a time and place for Sam?

Hey Soulmate, I'm up for meeting up for Sammy although I have no clue where (since I've never been to Roo), and I can't even guess what I'll be wearing (remember I'm a guy ; )). At worst case you can tell me what you'll be wearing (look for the hat?) and we can meet front centre of the stage (as far up as we can move) and meet there. Or just meet outside the tent 10 min b4 sammy goes on stage.
Come to think of it I may arrive to the show with a couple Keiths in hand, so that'll make it easier to find me.
I think all canadians have seen Sam. Of course Husband used to hang with his producer and drummer and they are from my town so is Nugent. They are like a down home band. This isn't good! I want a Spot to meet. Let me get back to everyone. I'll ask a veteran Roo-er. Hey wait a sec, there are veteran Rooers here on Canadian. Brb

best place usually to meet is at the sides of the tent...has worked for us for the past 2 years....just pick a side...left or right stage....and just on the outside of the tent....will meet up with your pals in no time!
Wish I could meet all you fellow Canadians at Sam Roberts...but I'm going VIP for the first time since going to Roo...and I definitely don't want to miss the VIP intimate show and free beer. Free beer and bonnaroo, I've died and gone to heaven!!!!
But I will definitely be looking for the Canadian hats, I should be wearing my Leaf tee, Canadian tee, anything to proudly show I'm a Canuck most days....lol.

I'm in VIP too, and it sucks I gotta miss an hour or so of it, but I gotta see Sam Roberts.
Soul, have you met the drummer personally? If so what's he like? I met the band before and they were all really cool guys, but the drummer was so out of it - he could barely put a sentance together (and I don't think he was drunk at all).
Anyways your message confused me...maybe just pick a side of the tent (towards the back - we'll move up of course), and wear something Canadian ; )
say 10 minutes before Sam comes on. 10 minutes previous on the left hand side at the very back. We will be wearing our Canadian hats, me with a canadian jesters hat

Haha, I'm sure you won't be easy to miss. I'll look for you then - and anyone else who wants to rock to some good Canadian music. Left hand side, 10 to 9

From my past experiences at Bonnaroo, meeting at the side but right up near the front is possible also, that way it's easier to slide inside the crowd to the stage
Let me get out my Electric Shock Paddles and pump some life back into this thread also! Movve it up closer to the top!! "Fromthelandofmud" was correct, we did meet peeps and it worked well at the back of the tent, near a pole! Thanks to Mud! Anyone here looking to split a VIP ticket? I don't really care if I purchase all of them, but I will need someone to cough up with the dough!

Don't have an extra VIP but my buddy and I will be rocking the VIP this year. We're from Calgary and we'll probably find a way to rig up a Canadian flag so come say "hi" if you want.
Oh hell yeah! We'll be there for sure in VIP! I love Calgary! One of my favorite cities in Canada. I've pretty much been everywhere but I love Calgary! I arranged a meet up last year and it was fun meeting other Cannucks! Must plan that this year again.
im coming from sarnia with a friend, maybe two, its my 3rd time and their 1st, ekk, surrounded by newbies!! should be a fun trip this year, neither or my buddies have been to an event like this! ive always left sarnia at midnight and drove, its usually 12 hours or so, we stop to eat in KY and stop to stock up on beer and food too, im a midnight worker so the drive is nothing for me, im usually awake from 8pm till 8am! im thinking about maybe leaving earlier and chiling @ walmart for a while in manchester tho!
