In all seriousness, I think Deadmau5 really could be placed where he is due to Prince and the possibility of him calling roo. I'm not even saying AC has talked to him, I'm saying they are still hoping to! The best way to still grab him would be to have space for him. Kendrick could play from 8-9:30 or even 7-9 with Deadmaus being scheduled for 11-1 always being able to pushed back to 1-3 for Prince to play from 10-12:30. I'm not saying it's gonna happen, but it is logical. Also, I know Deadmau5 was getting main stage, I just think the broad "Late Night" wording leaves it wide open.
Hell lets push deadmau5 back to a 3am start time and have Rage Against The Machine play after Prince. Or a 5am start time and we'll have Roger Waters and David Gilmour perform the Wall together with David Bowie on saxophone.

Too be fair he deserves some credit for creativity, I came in here expecting way more people saying something had to be added on which latenight, he stepped up the idiocy to an unexpected level.

Meth and Natty Light that early in the afternoon is always a bad idea.

Now I've been steering clear of a lot of the Bonnaroo-centric threads for a while since the lineup came out due to the overwhelming negativity towards said lineup. I'm so glad that when I make my return, some of the negativity is gone (thanks D'Angelo and Kacey Musgraves!), but your complete idiocy remains. It truly is the light of my life, and I hope you never change. Shine on, you crazy diamond.

No, no no, you've got him all wrong. He's not REALLY stupid. He's just pretending to be stupid for attention.

Don't ruin the illusion for me. Ignorance is bliss, and it works best if we both have it.

Really? Prince? If you know anything about anything then you'd know that Daft Punk will be getting that slot.

Father John Misty just played a Nashville show yesterday. im gonna try to hold out hope that maybe he was waiting until after that before being announced for Roo
I've never even seen the pit line. Anyone care to share their experience or how much before his set I'd need to show up in order to make it in?
I believe this will probably be the hardest What pit to get into all festival. The hype for this set is already growing and from my experience getting into the pit it depends on the act and they type of crowd they attract. I've been in the pit for acts like My Morning Jacket, Temper Trap, Damon Albarn, and Bjork...those lines were very well organized and peaceful.
I've also been in the pit for Kanye, Eminem, Arcade Fire, and Red Hot Chili Peppers...those lines got a little scary, people started jumping the barriers and cutting in line and the pushing got out of control. Once you're in the pit you're fine as there is plenty of room to move around. Getting in last year for Kanye was like a mini stampede, security pretty much lost control, someone could've easily been hurt.
I plan on getting the pit for Deadmau5 this year, I'll probably get in line right before Kendrick and wait it out.
the Kanye line was horrid last year. I waited a few hours in it, then i think it was right when they let the pit in for VW there was like a stampede. I ended up being completely squished and realized i could not stand waiting 2 hours in that position, so I went and just grabbed a spot from the main part of the crowd and tried to get in as close as I could. wish i had just done that from the start, could have seen Umphrey's and Janelle from a better vantage point and ended up closer then I was in the end.
some of the smaller acts its easy though. I walked right up for Damon Albarn right before he started, didn't have to wait at all. It helps if a big buzz band is scheduled at the same time on another stage (i think cage the elephant was against Damon)
this year I'm gonna try for Kendrick and maybe Spoon if they are on the What stage (does the Which have a pit like that?)
There's a lot of space on Thursday so they're probably saving that for Prince vs. a Hologram of Jimi Hendrix in a guitar battle on the new How Stage, which floats over the farm with all that money they made from the increased ticket prices.

I heard that Fins was curating a new stage called "Huh?" It'll have Prince, Daft Punk, David Bowie, and Led Zeppelin on the schedule, but you'll get there and find out it's empty because it was just a placeholder in case they called last minute to book themselves. They will be replaced by an #Allstar Superjam curated by Ryan Tannehill and featuring Cleo Lemon, Sage Rosenfels, and Widespread Panic.

I commented on a photo Jenny Lewis added to IG and asked if she was going to Bonnaroo, and that if she didn't reply it means yes. Guess what? No reply. Jenny Lewis totally, 100% confirmed for addition

FYI I heard Widespread Panic was just a placeholder in case Widespread Panic called last minute to book themselves. The fallback artist for the #Allstar Superjam will be Galactic (assuming Galactic calls last minute to book themselves).

I'm pretty sure that we can consider that a binding contract. Well done!

My god...I am so sad I missed this last night. This dude just doesn't quit. Never forget. #allstar
IDK why you'd want to be in the pit for something like Mau5. I'd much much rather be in the back where I can see the whole stage without looking up or side to side and have plenty of room to dance.
I did not say he can't mix (like your posted video) but he doesn't at his big shows. He has said recently though that he is interested in doing smaller shows instead of the big stadiums so he can mix live. I have nothing against press play dj's as I understand the reason for the light show.
For Porter Robinson. I still think the Zedd spot works. Zedd also has a large light show and it worked fine. That time block is when the sun is setting so it isn't that bright out.

I think its more than just a visual thing, its being in the pit with lots of other fans that enjoy the artist enough to wait to get in the pit to, thus the energy from the people around you will be much higher and hopefully more positive.
There are definitely instances where people in the pit had a fundamentally different experience than people in the back. Kanye last year comes to mind. A lot of people in the pit last year during Kanye were mystified by the negativity they read later because from where they were standing, everybody was loving it.
I don't have a great deal of pit experience, but I was in the pit for Bjork. When she walked out on stage the collective gasp from everyone in the pit is an experience I'll never forget. The air got sucked right out of there. I was also in the Which pit for Skrillex 2012, which was pure insanity, just flesh and sweat and screaming that you couldn't hear because the music was so loud. It was basically the video for Nine Inch Nails' "Wish" but with slightly less dust and dirt.

I was just outside the pit on the left of What fer Bjork, and while the crowd looked sadly sparse from my view, she was fuckin' awesome. My girlfriend, myself, and our friend went to Kanye (mostly on their insistence). So we checked it out and were there fer some 20 minutes before people who had come from further up the main field told us he was actually playin' right there and now. Keep in mind we were a few hundred feet in from the beer tent by Ye Olde Ditch, and yet couldn't tell he was onstage!
