The Tame Impala album has grown on me a lot. Cause I'm A Man is good and I like Past Life. At the moment, I'm really into New Person, Same Old Mistakes. It may be my favorite track on the album.
I haven't delved deep into enough releases this month to vote. I love the Isbell record and enjoyed Titus Andronicus a lot. The Night Beds holds up to Tame Impala in some spots as far as PBR&B goes.
This might be the hardest AotM decision I've ever had to make (or avoid making). Currents and Star Wars are both in my top five releases so far this year. I might have to do a back-to-back spinning before I choose a victor.
That's the thing about Currents for me. I thought it was pretty good initially, but nothing special. A really solid 6 or maybe even 7, largely due to me wanting more guitar like the old albums. But, each time I listened to it, I liked it more and more. Currents is still my least favorite Tame Impala album (both others are at least 8's for me) but after listening to the album like 10 times, the album is now at least an extremely strong 7, but it's really more like a decent 8.
Honorable Mentions: 2. Departure Songs by We Lost The Sea 3. Star Wars by Wilco 4. Something More Than Free by Jason Isbell 5. Born In The Echos by The Chemical Brothers
