This thread makes me want to get a Spotify account and post here next year.
It's really interesting to go through this year to year when Spotify is your primary listening platform. I've been almost exclusively using Spotify since sometime in 2012 (that's the first playlist I created is dated) and it's neat to see how my listening habits have changed/ stayed the same. However, if you don't use Spotify a ton this year end summary isnt as accurate, so I could see how some summaries are skewed for people who listen on several platforms.
Yeah, this is true - and also, at least for me, it is relevant to consider when you listen to Spotify the most vs other platforms. For instance, I almost always use spotify when I'm at the gym, so one of my top 5 tracks for the year was Ryn Weaver's "The Fool." Definitely wouldn't say it is top 5 of my favorite songs for the year, but I love doing cardio to that shit haha.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

So after reading this, I went back to see when I made my first playlist... 2011!! I still used pandora though until the end of 2012 where I started using spotify exclusively, well besides Sirius in my car. I should probably subscribe.

Summary: There's still a lot of Dr. Dog, but Jungle really ruled my life in the beginning of the year. I don't know what the Stomp & Holler genre of music is. I want to not listen to it because it has a dumb name, but I don't pay enough attention to genre's to even care all that much. Oh, and I have a huge lady crush on Annie Clark so... yeah, she's kinda everywhere too.
I don't know what the Stomp & Holler genre of music is.
Did you listen to any Future this year? That is my best guess other than some sort of super high tempo bluegrass.
I assumed Stomp and Holler was stuff like Mumford. You know, some hoedown stomping followed by a "Whoop" "Ya" "some lyric about a heart" sort of thing. Stomp and Holler is exactly what comes to mind when I think of Mumford.
I don't know what the Stomp & Holler genre of music is.

I have no idea what Future is. So no. haha
I did check the playlist for that genre. It has Edward Sharpe, The Head and the Heart, Avetts, Fleet Foxes, Tallest Man on Earth, Deer Tick, Conor Oberst, Dawes, etc. I listen to Deer Tick, Fleet Foxes & Tallest Man, so that's my guess as to why it showed up. It's a weird little grouping of bands/artists for sure though.

I use last.fm to track most of my listening, and when my daughter was younger Rockabye baby dwarfed everything else on my lists. Particularly Radiohead, Tool and Smashing Pumpkins. Like, hundreds of hours via my ipod.
