Music heals like nothing else.
Yeah, I will be there. Going solo, and my first Bonnaroo (and PJ show). I think I need the experience.
At times I can be a depressed wreck, where I start second guessing all the shit I ever did in my life and really do think life could be more than what it is.

Yeah, my first PJ show too, and I really need a vacation. I may also be going solo for the second time out of seven trips, as my old friends just moved and might have too much on their plates to go this time. You should definitely stop by Camp Inforoo in Tent Only, for Friday brunch if nothing else. I've never camped there but a lot of cool people from the board always camp and/or hangout more or less together there. You'd be hard pressed to stop in there and not find someone to catch a show with, laugh about something, or whatever; the folks here are seriously ridiculously nice, and helpful Roo experts if you need anything.
Bat for Lashes - Laura The track isnt really inline with death, but its been comforting me as my grandmother has been dying. She passed on the last day of Coachella. She was one of the only people who ever "got me" when I was a teenager, I always felt a kinship to her. I've been busting out in tears whenever it comes on the playlist for a while.
Any other time
That Year - Brandi Carlile No particular reason, it doesnt actually remind me of anything of my own, I just can really feel it from her.
Wild is the wind - Nina Simone I could probably list a number of Nina tracks, but this one is currently the one that is in my head.
Sampson - Regina Spektor This was a bit of a soundtrack of my divorce. Its been 8 years, still brings back sore spots.
Roads - Portishead No emotional connection, that girl just reaches into my soul and plucks the pain from my heart.
My 5 year old son was in the car with me when that "see you again" song by wiz khalifa came on the radio. It was finishing about the time we pulled up into the driveway and I looked back and he was in tears. I asked "what's wrong honey?!" and he said with all seriousness "this song makes me tears. does it make you tears?" it was the saddest thing in the world lol but yes, the song makes me tears, too, kiddo!
This song every time. I have two boys, but it still hits so hard.
Absolutely. I have two girls. Railbird was my first festival post-(mid?)-COVID last year. "Last year was a sonofabitch for nearly everyone we know" hit differently than it had before and then this one had me bawling in the sweltering heat.

We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.

This song.
Moving away, crazy destiny I'll always be an alarmist Who'll jump at a chance Anything for romance! I hope I'll always be what you want Moving away Those I'll miss Those I won't But I hope your heart will be where my home is A new life to create A new life to create Don't know quite why But I was feeling unsatisfied I had to get out now Try to find it Possessed by your love Under the influence And though there's a new life line I won't forget the one I left behind A new life to create A new life to create A new little life
