Exactly how bad is it when it rains all weekend? knock on wood.
It can be bad for the roads to get out and on the path to walk. It's nice to not care about dust. I bring boots every year and pick stuff up off the ground at my campsite before I go in and the rain has never bothered me. The rain on Thursday in 2009 was pretty bad. Lots of tents and canopies went flying. I'll take rain and cooler days over the heat and dust every time.
I remember it raining pretty hard Sunday night/Monday morning last year and trying to pack up in that was just awful and it wasn't dusty, or seemed to be to me, so I'm really just hoping for neutral conditions.
I'm back for another update! Weather channel is reporting colder than average temps for the southeast this year thanks for the snow that's still covering a lot of Canada and...you guessed it...El NINO!
I've only been to Roo the past two years - I really don't have a clue about how overwhelming the heat can get, do I?
Ha, ignorance is bliss, no?
It's not so much the heat, but the combo of heat and humidity. Moving to San Antonio from Houston is such a dramatic difference. The actual temps between the two cities is usually similar, but the humidity in Houston is stifling.
Fingers crossed the string of good weather continues!
2010 was so so brutal. Total endurance contest. The only thing that kept me from having a heat stroke was putting handfuls of ice in my hat. I had access to the chase freedom lounge and I'd grab a handful of ice out of their cooler between every act. It worked surprisingly well. That was my last year I went, and I don't expect so much access to ice so I'm taking extra precautions. I'm buying a mist fan, a necklace fan, and a frog tog cooling towel. Also going to try and bring an umbrella into centeroo so if I want to sit and rest and can't find shade, I can have my own
I took a tiny umbrella last year and on friday had no issues bringing into centeroo. Saturday they didn't let me. So this year I am just stuffing my tiny umbrella into my shorts. It's a lifesaver. I used it at coachella and just put it away 15 misn before a set started.

Well currently the Nashville area is getting way cooler weather than usual. It's been like this all year. We are usually in the 80s by now, but we barely getting to 70 during the day and 40s in the night. It's crazy weather for TN but I LOVE it

I live in Nashville, so I know what you mean. Wearing a jacket right now...at my desk.

That kind of weather fer 'Roo would be totally acceptable.

We left Tom Petty early to pack up camp and leave before it poured. Glad we did after seeing some of the pictures from Monday morning.
Just saw this on the twitter thread. Follow @bonnaroowx for up to date weather info during the fest. These guys do the same thing for nashville year round and are great at what they do.

Yeahhhh it was bad. Couldn't sleep. Tent took in A LOT of water. I remember leaving and seeing all the stuff people left behind because it got wrecked from the rain.

This is a good service. I followed last summer, and got early alerts on the Sunday night/Monday weather events. We had a good storm blow through before The National set on Sunday, and they had radar updates with Manchester as the center point.

1karen1 is cuh-razy. no 90s temps! i promise you won't freeze with a nice 83 degree, partly cloudy day.
we slept in our vehicle last year so the sunday night rain was no prob.
i didn't go in 2010 but 2011 was so gat damn dry i probably still have a coating of dust in my lungs, and i know which socks are from that year because they're still orangey brown from the dust. i don't remember which show it was during, but at one point one lone cloud drifted across the sun for a few minutes and the crowd just ERUPTED into maybe the loudest cheers i heard that weekend.

I always struggle with the nights at roo, it's so hot during the day but can actually get pretty cold at night. Anyone have tips on what to wear/bring into centeroo if I don't want to trek it back to camp?
I just hope to avoid 2010 conditions. I've never seen heat & humidity like that at Bonnaroo; I think the heat index went up to 108 at one point.
Ugh. 2010 was my first 'Roo, and I'll never be able to forget how terrible that weather was. I honestly didn't know if I could come back. Thankfully I wisened up.

I usually carry a really thin hoody (like tee-shirt fabric) in the bottom of my purse. I've never really needed anything heavier than it at night.

i have a super thin mesh-lined pullover jacket that i take in. it will roll up small enough to stuff in the bungee cord spot on my camelbak.
i also bought a bunch of mylar emergency blanket things last year and put a packet in my camelbak to take in - no bigger than a pack of tissues. my friend without a jacket took it, and it worked great and was hilarious because she looked like a plate of leftovers wrapped up in it.

This account is fabulous to have and quite accurate. I also have the AccuWeather.com app on my phone and it tells you when precipitation will begin and how long it will last which is nice.

I had to sleep in my car last year on Sunday night. I got back from Petty and there was a HUGE pool of water on my canopy, right over my tent. I broke down as much as i could but left the canopy up until the morning. I slept well because it was chilly and I used my tent fan...woke up the next morning and felt pretty fortunate when I saw my canopy, half collapsed, with metal bars broken right over where my tent had been. SO glad I slept in my car. Wouldn't recommend it normally but the nights last year were quite comfortable.
