How have they not? "Since Richt's tenure began, Georgia has won two SEC championships – 2002 and 2005 – and 6 of their 7 SEC East Division Championships – 2002, 2003, 2005, 2007, 2011, and 2012." "Georgia has won the third most SEC football championships, with 12, behind Alabama (22) and Tennessee (13)."
I don't think any UGA fan will argue they are the best in the SEC this year or any year in recent memory but to say they haven't contributed anything to making the SEC the most renowned conference in college football is idiotic.
Not saying that Uga hasn't been a historically successful program but it has been 9 years since they have won the SEC. I'm taking it more as directly comparing them to Clemson. Everything I read from the Uga fans gave the impression that they don't even think Clemson is in the same class. It's just not true. The last couple years Clemson has been better. Going back 5 years Clemson is still better. Maybe if you go back 10 years Uga is ahead but that's a long time ago. The comment in response to emoney was more of a knee jerk reaction to him always going to that tired true, old insightful "because they play in the SEC" bullshit infallible argument.

You said UGA has not contributed anything to the SEC, not "UGA hasn't won the SECCG since 2005." If that's the case, Clemson has not contributed anything to the ACC as their first championship since 1991 came in 2011. A year in which they were embarassed in the Orange Bowl by West Virginia 70-33.
Who is saying Clemson isn't in the same class as Georgia? Imaginary UGA fans that your posts always mention? Please direct your arguments to real people.
Clemson had a better year last year, yes. Were they better in 2012? Not in my opinion. Past 5 years? Neither team has been amazing. It's difficult to compare two teams who don't play each other every year and play in different conferences. To say Georgia has to go back 10 years to be better than Clemson is just... just stop Sang. If anything you're saying Clemson is in a different class than UGA which is the same thing you are mad at the imaginary Georgia fans for.

He heard it on sports radio. NO, NOT THE CALLERS! THE HOSTS!!!

You brought up delusional Clemson fans on a Clemson message board. I countered that I was reading a Uga message board where the fans were even more delusional. I don't think any rational Clemson fan acts like we are a top 5 program that should play for the national championship every year. I think most of us know that weren't where we were supposed to be for a long time. The last 5 years (as long as Dabo has been here) we're top 10 in winning pct. and have been to 2 BCS games. Anyway my point was those Uga fans were being ignorant. Uga may win the game, they should playing at home. But as far as the 2 programs go, they've been pretty even with Clemson slightly better lately.

I made one post referring to a board that was actually linked and not once did I use those to generalize the entire Clemson fanbase.
Nearly every point you try to make is referring to something said by a fan from an unspecified message board/talk show.
Did I say that all Clemson fans think they are top 5 and should play in the national championship every year? Oh okay, yeah you heard that from a UGA fan one time or saw it on some message board.
"But as far as the 2 programs go, they've been pretty even with Clemson slightly better last year."
Atleast we can agree that Georgia has the edge at home this year.

We probably don't even really agree on that. Because while I can see why Uga would be favored at home I still think Clemson is going to win. I never said I was talking about all Uga fans I was talking specifically about the ones on the Scout message board. Almost every one of them think there's no chance, that last year was a fluke and that Clemson is not even a real challenge, like Uga is on another level. But I imagine most Uga fans do feel the same way. I'm not sure what delusion you were even talking about on that Clemson board because I read a different one and I didn't follow the link.
Also been going back and forth for weeks about whether to renew my Pitt season tickets to keep my seat seniority. Their home schedule is something awful this year.
Could you at least sell the tickets if you renewed?
Thats probably what Ill do. The problem is Pitt plays at Heinz field so they rarely, if ever (I think ND last year may have sold out)sell enough tickets where its hard to find them. Its only $200 so its probably still worth it to set myself up for next year.
Georgia 28 Clemson 17 - Close game but Gurley puts it away late. He had a field day last year before leaving the game (154 yards and two touchdowns on just 12 carries.)
Florida State 41 OK State 17 - Winston Winstons.
Ole Miss 38 Boise State 21 - Ole Miss will surprise a lot of people this season.
South Carolina 27 Texas A&M 10 - SC dominates a TAMU team missing Manziel, Matthews, and Evans.
LSU 21 Wisconsin 17 - Toughest game to pick week 1. Total toss up.

Didn't realize they were ranked 18th when making the post.
Tough schedule but they get both Bama and Auburn at home.
They do face that inevitable thing about a team trying to make a rise in the SEC in that many of the top tier teams (especially in the West) have had solid recruiting classes for years upon years, so they are pretty stacked talent wise. To get something like a ten win season, you have to pull off a win against a pretty legit opponent. In order to get ten wins, Ole Miss has to go .500 against Alabama, LSU, Auburn and A&M. A&M isn't what they have been the last couple seasons, but they're still going to be a good team.

Only people who aren't paying attention.
I really dislike the Mississippi teams being good programs. A few years ago they felt like gimme wins (Ole Miss especially). If one or both of them is competitive it makes a tough SEC West even tougher. Oh well, if you want to be the best you gotta beat the best.
Did anybody watch the Sam Houston State vs Eastern Washington game Saturday? Every time a kid would walk into the living room they would looked dumbfounded & ask why the field was painted red.
As much as I hate the say anything positive about Clemson where sang can see it, I think clemson's d is too good to give up 41 to UGA.
Gave up 35 to Georgia last year. (And Ohio State. And 51 to Florida State.)
They'll be better this year. Plus, this is the first game (for both teams) with a new starting quarterback. Mason has been the heir apparent for some time, but it'll still take a minute to get the kinks worked out. Also, they will be without Malcolm Mitchell for the entire game this year rather than him getting hurt in the first quarter like last year.
