I think we should create a device to measure a members merit and worthiness for posting on electronic forums, let's call it a E meter. Then use the reading from that devise and the amount of money they contribute to the board to determine how much they can see and post.

Personally, I don't like the idea of a "playpen" posting area and would much rather see just a 7-Day waiting period between the creation of a new account, and the ability to post. Every day of the 7 day period an automatic PM can be sent guiding the noob to a new thread to visit and get aquainted with.
What you got back home, little sister, to play your fuzzy warbles on? I bet you got little save pitiful, portable picnic players. Come with uncle and hear all proper! Hear angel trumpets and devil trombones. You are invited.
I would like to add that I really like what juggern posted re: the new person's area where baiting/abusing/making fun of the new people is strictly prohibited by full members. I could imagine that getting blasted in your first few posts does not really make you want to continue on with the site. I was looking at my created threads the other day, and my first thread was the 20th thread in 2009 asking what a wook was. Thankfully, cheeky and Fishing Maniac responded in a positive manner to me making a dumb thread. If it would have been all insults, I might not have stuck around.
This is hilarious. I don't log in often enough to even remember this, but I used to be known for being abusive all the time. It was just a schtick though. Some people got it and others didn't. Glad you felt welcomed. I have never intended to truly offend people unless they can't have a sense of humor about themselves.
