Roo Clue #1: These were made, in the shade, to keep the gold panner up. Just three more, a friendly score, and they can hoist the cup.
Something was made while in the shade - Its hot out so the panners are cooling off in the shade. I dont think one would escape heat in the shade to drink hot coffee. Nor am I saying they are making redbull or PBR.
Just three more of these somethings and the panners can either A)Win a trophy or B) Cheers to their newly acquired brew in a cup.
Score = 20 years (Abe Lincoln) So 3 more years to equal 20 or 3 more 20 year periods.
After said time period, the panners will complete their task of "raising the cup"
They and These leads me to a band and not a vocalist or solo artist.
I was definitely thinking along the lines of 20=score, but i didn't think to add the 3. Makes sense to me.

I don't think the two sentences are referring to the same these/they. Clues from years past seemed to follow the pattern of having each section of the clue referring to separate things. I think the "they" refers directly to the artist/band we're trying to guess.
You're just too young to grasp how stylin' I really was. All the boys wanted to do me when I was 5. Actually the girls did too. My haircut was confusing.

On Radio Bonnaroo, they said the image is not part of the band name. They said that before the image was posted on Instagram, so I assumed that the image would have some kind of written clue. I'm confused.
2021 08-07: Japanese Breakfast @ Union Transfer 09-08: My Morning Jacket / Brittany Howard @ The Mann 09-18: Soccer Mommy @ Union Transfer 10-01 thru 10-03: Austin City Limits Music Festival 10-19: Waxahatchee @ Union Transfer 10-27: Arlo Parks @ The Foundry 11-09: Squid @ Johnny Brenda's 11-17: Monophonics @ World Cafe Live 12-01: Caribou @ Union Transfer
If that's a real clue on Instagram then they aren't even trying. A picture of Oregon, with a star on Portland, inside a TV? Portlandia live comedy set. Next.
Or they pitched the slow one down the middle to get people hooked.

Based on the instagram pic, it's portland and on a tv. So maybe it's Carrie Brownsteins band, Sleater-Kinney or even better Fred Armisen as Ian Rubbish?
I'm gonna stick with washed out because I don't see them doing a clue for a comedy act, pretty sure they haven't done that in the past as far as I remember. washed out makes too much sense.
