Hey roosters, I hope this isn't against the rules in any way (please let me know or move the post if so), but I've been sitting on this super-secret project for so long and dying to let you all know about it, ever since my boss in our meeting said "What I really want to do is have a presence at Bonnaroo." Naturally I perked right up and was all ears after that.
I work for a (very) small company in Boston called Mimoco. We make Mimobots -- collectible USB flash drives in the likenesses of Star Wars, Adventure Time, etc. (www.mimoco.com)
I know a lot of us struggle with trying to find a good backup power solution out on the farm. I know when my cell phone is 'roaming' it eats up a full battery in several hours on the farm. This is something you can throw in your bag if you camp out in Centeroo all day like me to get you through LN so you don't have to pee in the dark.
We just launched a Kickstarter for a new product called Batterybot. Basically, a really cool, ultra-portable backup battery device that can charge phones, cameras, iPads, DSes, etc. We experimented with a couple of other existing backup battery devices we could skin (like battery banks, those round tube things) but none had the performance or style we were looking for, so we engineered one. Behold:
Our ship date is June 2014 and our hope is that if we get funded, everyone can have their Batterybots in hand for 'Roo and we'd eventually like to be there with these little guys. The Kickstarter price is between 30-40% off MSRP depending on whether or not you're able to snag the "early bird." Legally we can't show the licensed characters we'll have, but I can tell you I see them on the mock-up board and they are WICKED cute.
If we get funded you'll be reached out to via e-mail to ask which design you want. If you have any questions, please send 'em my way and I'll do my best to answer them! This project is super important to us and as soon as the idea came into play I knew it'd be super useful for us festie-goers. Even if all you can do is share this with other festlovers that might be interested, it would mean the world to us.

Looks like you guys are off to a good start! I could get behind this. My one and only camera crapping out during Bjork on Saturday this year was kind of a bummer. Good luck!

Krissyjo, I had a quick chat with the design team and -- while we'd have to acquire licensing -- I can say that it's definitely not outside the realm of possibility! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!! Thank you so much for entertaining our idea!
Btw, the office knows what Inforoo is now, and is very intrigued. "Is it a cult?"
edit: Monkeybunny, are you sure it wasn't just Bjork telekinetically disabling your camera? I wouldn't put it past her. No guarantees that Batterybot can shield against Bjorkinesis, but I'll be sure to mention that feature at the next meeting.
