You're just too young to grasp how stylin' I really was. All the boys wanted to do me when I was 5. Actually the girls did too. My haircut was confusing.
I think it would be at least Wiggins in return. The question is what else...
I'm no NBA trade expert, I follow the wolves a little bit, not much because...they suck. I know all the background on trying to unload him before his contract is up next year...i would think wiggins and maybe a 2nd round pick next year? not sure they would give up their 1st round pick, even though it will most likely be in the high 20s

This dude is hilarious. But he makes a point. Boston and Lakers are rebuilding still, Heat will join them.
Its time for OKC to make their move on the aging Spurs, because the East is shook up as of now.
Really interested in where Ray Allen lands. Potential 3 point man the Sixers need, and can give him a decent 1 year contract if he wants to play still. Bosh is Houston most likely, and ill say Wade goes to Chicago to make it a homecoming for everybody, but most likely stays in Miami realistically.

I think it's pretty well understood by everyone following the NBA with any interest or even a modicum of attention that Ray Allen is going to go wherever LeBron goes, and will play for pennies. He has no need for money at this point, and he's not taking a contract with a crummy team. Odds are he signs in Cleveland ASAP, and barring that, if he keeps playing it will be with one of the other powerhouses.
The East really isn't very "shook up." Just take the Heat out of the discussion and replace them with Cleveland. It's Cleveland, Indiana, Washington, Chicago, Toronto, Atlanta, Brooklyn, Charlotte. And if Cleveland acquires Kevin Love to go along with LeBron and Irving, then it's Cleveland and everyone else.

Cleveland is not taking Miami's place with Just LeBron. They are far and away from a championship with just what they have now. A few free agents will change that, but they need time to get. As well as every other team except a healthy bulls and a in sync Indiana. The eastern powerhouse isnt going to show for a few years.
If Ray wants more then a vet minimum, we can pay him that for a 1 yr/option. I figure he would either A. Go to a contender for pennies or B. Highest Bidder

Okay now that I've finally stopped weeping about LeBron leaving.
Word is that Chris Bosh is still considering coming back to the Heat for a max. If he stays and Wade can stay healthy we can still be a contender in the east, I could see them landing the 3-6 seed the next few years.
If the Cavs trade for Love they have some major work to do defensively. Both Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love are absolutely atrocious at defense. I think the Cavs will definitely be a favorite for the East and will probably win it, but I don't see that team beating the Spurs or Thunder imo
But if the Bulls land Melo I think that makes them the immediate favorite for the east

Bosh is going to end up in Houston. Even if he doesn't Bosh + Wade's terrible knees and whatever else they end up with will not be close to a "contender," even in a historically bad conference.

You were saying?
Depending on who the Heat sign I don't think it's unreasonable to think they'll be a force in the east. After Wade and Bosh sign the Heat still have over $20 million in cap room to bring in players. They could sign Deng or Ariza, or maybe get in the market for a decent center. Wade was virtually injury free last season and there's no reason to think he can't stay healthy again
Irving-Wiggins-Lebron-Thompson-Varejao....Waiters as 6th man.
This team is top 3 in the east as is. If Irving and Varejao stay healthy they are competing for a championship. And that's before they make any trades.

Well clearly I was wrong about Bosh (really though what the fuck are you doing, Miami), but I guess we have different definitions of "contender." The Raptors had the third best record in the East last year; doesn't mean they were a legit contender.
With their remaining cap room the Heat could pull off signing Greg Monroe and Luol Deng. A starting lineup of
PG Shbazz Napier SG Dwyane Wade SF Luol Deng PF Chris Bosh C Greg Monroe
That would easily be the third best in the east. (I personally think Melo stays in NY)
The Heat can't afford that.
Monroe is also an RFA and happens to be one of the best Centers in the NBA. Despite all the shit with Josh Smith and Drummond, I'd be surprised to see the Pistons simply let Monroe walk.
Deng on the other hand makes sense to me. A very underrated player as well.

It depends on Wade's contract. If they give him a max then you're right, they can't. I'm just trying to be optimistic. I'd love for the Heat to sign Eric Bledsoe but I don't know if that's an option either, it just sucks that I have to lower my expectations from finals every year to "maybe we can make the conference finals"

Realistically what do you think Wade signs for?
$15-18 a year sounds like about right for him. There were reports that he could sign a $11 million per year if the big three were to come back. Do you think he'll get a max?

Considering Lowry signed for $12 million and Hayward signed for $15 million, I'd expect Wade to sign anywhere in that range.
Even if he signs for $12 million, that put the Heat at about $45 million. With less than $20 million left in cap space, I don't see how they could then sign Deng AND Monroe. Mind you, they would only have 8 players after all that. It just aint happening.

How do you figure they'll be at $45 million? McRoberts and Granger were signed with the MLE, Bosh's salary will be around $19 million for the first season since most nba contracts are back loaded. Napier and Cole are making less than 5 million combined and if Wade gets $12 million that would put them closer to 35 million than 45 million
I just want pieces to keep moving and moving and the one team staying together in the East can go under the radar and use this one-year window to grab the East. I'll let you figure out who I'm talking about.

McBob+Granger+Cole+Napier= 10 Bosh= 19 (I just used the yearly average of 23) Wade= 12
That's how I got to 45. I was using yearly averages. Even at 39 they only have 24 left. No way Deng and Monroe average 12. It's impossible.

Yeah I guess you're right Word is Deng to Miami will be announced tomorrow, so I hope they can use the remaining 12 million on one more quality player (Ariza?) then two decent players
The best thing about all this Lebron stuff is that now my boy Christopher Bosh gets to be the number one option in Miami! Dwyane Wade can't carry the team at this point in his career, so barring any major FA signings (Deng doesn't count), Bosh is gonna be the main man.
LONG LIVE THE STAR PRINCE!
Putting my fandom aside... it's not great news when Star Prince Christopher Bosh is your go-to guy. He's definitely found a good niche as a two way player with range, but he just isn't an alpha type player. Regardless, I'm gonna root for the Heat to not be a total disaster this year. The east will be shitty again so they could still possibly hold down a lower playoff seed. It certainly doesn't take much, so hopefully Bosh, some FA signee and 54 games of Dwyane Wade can get it done.
They just aren't allowed to beat out my Hornets. And no, I don't care how many shots Vonleh missed today.
The Heat are going to be garbage next year. Sorry Heat fans but it's time to snap back to reality. Right now the Cavs are looking solid and if they land Love they'll be the heavy favorite to win it all. If Melo really wants to win, or a t least compete, he'll go to Chicago. Melo and Pau would put Chicago up there with the Cavs. Other than that, the East is gonna be as weak as ever.
I'm actually excited to start watching the NBA again.
