Yeah, I'm thinking the chances of a Bruins Habs meeting in the playoffs is slim this year. But stranger things have happened.
Dammit! The streak is over...
And why you say that? I'd say with the new format it's pretty likely, or do you think the Habs won't get out of the first round.
. If price isn't healthy, probably not. If we catch fire JUST in time, I think this team could win it all.
A lot of it relies on Price IMO.
I'd say it hurts the chances, just because I expect the habs to be 4-5th. And Bruins 1st in the East. If it was the old format, I could see a habs bruins conference final. Too much to think about right now tho. Need to bask in this.

Excited to see this Teravainen kid make his debut tonight for the Hawks. It sucks that it took the Kane injury for him to get a look and I try not to get too excited for rookies but his style of play will provide him chances to make some plays.
When I was 19, I was trying to buy beer from a south side liquor store using a parking ticket as an ID. This kid is making his NHL debut at 19
I'm so split on your series. I hate the Canadians but want them to win so you can owe me beer. If Tampa wins I would probably be able to actually see a Bs game.
I'm getting ahead if misled so the Bs will prob blow their first round.

Tonight will be the tell all. If price tightens up, the bolts are done. If Stamkos runs free again, we'll have trouble, but I don't see the habs losing this.
I could really see the Wings upsetting Boston. But I REALLY WANT a Habs Bruins 2nd round.
I don't wanna jinx the Hawks. It's gonna be a tough series but I think whoever wins will be in the Stanley Cup Finals. Hawks should've won that game but got screwed out of that delay of game call. Game 2 can't come fast enough.
In the East I see either the Bruins or your Habs. They've both been really hot in the second half of the season, we'll see. Detroit is a team that always intrigues me, I hate them, but they are a damn good franchise. Personally, I would love to see a Hawks/Red Wings Finals.

i don't see the blues advancing past the tend tound, and I certainly don't see thrm beating thre ducks.
For me, it's either dharks or ducks for west, and could be either Bruins, Pens, or habs for the east.
If wings best boston, that means habs don't get beat up and pound the Pens. I don't see a world where habs beat bruins, pens and a western team. Bruins beat habs (sad but true IMO). Bruins beat pens, and depending on how beat up the ducks, hawks or dharks are, will determine go wins the cup

I'm still carrying around the Hawks loss the other night with me. My kids stuffed dog has had the shit kicked out of it for 24 hours....by him. I love my son. I don't know where he learned to get so emotional about sports though.

Rangers fan here as well. They used to show the NHL Finals in the cinema tent like they do for NBA but sadly did away with it for some reason. This year they should have some kind of extra outdoor exhibition space for World Cup games so maybe they'll bring them back out there instead (assuming they don't conflict with USA soccer which seems doubtful since I think most matches are played in the daytime while NHL is at night. The time difference is only a couple hours between Tennessee & Brazil.)
I want the Rangers to win the cup but if they are in the finals while I'm on the farm that'll be so upsetting. I would probably sell my roo ticket.
Last year while driving into Roo the Hawks/Bruins game was on the radio which added to my overall excitement. I don't recall which game but I believe the Hawks won in OT, which made for a great start to the weekend.

For some reason neither the ducks or the sharks scare me. I think the Hawks will destroy either of those teams. If the refs continue to make blatant bad calls then who knows.
Chicago is looking a little battered. This is why I don't see them going too far in these playoffs. There are much my physical teams than the Blues. Watch that Sharks vs Kings series. It's a god damn war. Hope the kings can pull a couple extra games outta that series. Wear the sharks down a bit. The Ducks just have that feel when you watch them. I'm very worried about whoever comes out on top in the west.

This is why I think so many people are picking the Bruins to win it all. I think the mindset is the west is just going to beat the piss out of each other and there's the possibility of the B's coasting into the finals. At full strength te B's vs a team out of the west would prob be a great, fairly even series, but they prob gain the upper hand against a team that has been to war for 3 series. If it's another team coming out of the east I would say full strength a team from the west would be a heavy favorite, but battered would be a little more even.

Part of the beauty and allure of playoff hockey is that while all of this above is correct, a hot goalie can be the great equalizer.

I agree. For me, montreal a only hope is that Detroit bounces the bruins. Even tho I think the habs COULD take Boston in a 7 game series, we'd be worse for the ware afterwards, and doubt we'd beat Pittsburg. If we go through Tampa, Detroit, hen I feel good about getting past Pittsburg with energy to take on a battered western team.
These are all dreams of course. This is the closest to a cup contending habs team we've had in quite some time, so excuse my jumping the gun. As Carey Price goes, so will the habs.

Ya I really think this is gonna be one of those strange years where we could have two random team nobody expects just because of the paths...... And instantly the new format will be questioned.
I seriously can not believe the Flyers did not blow that lead. The entire 3rd period they were playing too conservatively and i was just waiting for the Rangers to tie it up. Either way go Flyers! All they need to do now is win all the Home games
