I only have one true hate: Phil Collins. I'd rather listen to a Yoko Ono duet with Billy Ray Cyrus than anything by Phil Collins or post-Gabriel Genesis.
I'm pretty sure I'm just too old to get the whole Dubstep thing, but most of it sounds like an unbalanced washing machine to me.
I really don't get the Vampire Weekend love. They're on all of the "Best of the Year So Far" lists and I just don't understand it. It all sounds like rich white kids singing about being rich white kids and occasionally throwing in some pseudo-world music to sound less like rich white kids.
U2 Kanye (used to love him) Primus (seen em ten times, boring to me at this point) Ben Harper Best Coast Of Monsters and Men
And more than anything, Dave Matthews Band. Sorry.
It took you ten Primus shows to realize you don't like them?
You can read it like that if you want. But that's not it, at all. I've seen it enough, is what I mean. My friends always want to see Primus at fests, so I always go too. I dug it the first few times, now I'm just not that into it anymore. Who are your bands for this list?

I get what you mean, I guess it just surprised me. I feel like most people have a strong opinion one way or another on Primus very soon after being introduced to them. Everybody either loves them or can't stand them. I posted a short list of bands back in the first page or two that included The National and Vampire Weekend.
He isn't hugely popular on the global scale, but Flying Lotus. His music is too jittery and spastic for me. I don't understand all the love he gets from electronic music fans.

Maybe the issue is that your holding Vampire Weekend to a different set of standards. Standards that you don't hold other music to...

Possible, I suppose. If they weren't on everyone's "Best of" list, they'd probably fall into the Weezer category for me. Slightly annoying if in my presence but generally not even a band I think about. It isn't even that I really hate on them. I just don't understand the devotion. If they're supposed to be ironic and cheesy, they don't crank it up enough for me to enjoy the over the top cheese like I do a Manowar or They Might Be Giants. Maybe I haven't gotten deep enough into their catalog to get the joke.
My top bands I really just don't like though are: Mumf & sons, (and bands like them: lumineers, of monsters and men, edward sharpe) i know everyone would hate me for this answer but to me their music is all just that "wanna be folky" music and I just can't get into it.
See now I love all of those bands that so lovingly use the word "hey"

Ill get into this a little by genera not a single band or person. I am out of the dating scene so maybe that's why. Bruno Mars Usher (although I like him on tv) Akron K West Jay-Z Drake You get the pic. The list looks so racist but it's not that at all. cr****
Will probably get a ton of hell for this buuuuuuuuut: My Morning Jacket, to me it sounds like they have two sounds, I like their more indie rock sound, but everything else is just so ehhhh to me. I saw them live at the Americanarama tour and they didn't blow me away either. I just don't get all of the love for them.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.

Queens of the Stone Age. Black Keys. Muse.
Once upon a time I would have said Primus, but after seeing them live I love Primus. Also would have said Pearl Jam, but I quickly came around on them after giving them a fair listen. What I'm trying to say is everyone in this thread is insane.

Damn dude. Have you given all three of those a proper listen?
Edit: especially qotsa..?

Definitely given the Black Keys a fair chance. I've listened to all their albums and seen them live 3 times. Just can't get into them.
Muse I could probably listen to more, it's just what I have heard hasn't made me want to explore deeper.
QOTSA is iffy. My room mate realllly loves them so I hear them quite a bit, but I've never just sat and listened to them on my own.
