I cannot stand these three acts, because I can't stand them. And I've tried. What bands fall into this category for you?
The Dirty Projectors - Seen em twice, listened to albums plenty, don't get it The National - Good lyrics, incredibly boring though, can't stand the monotone, Saw em at Big Ears, Matt stood right on top of the seats in front of me, still didn't like it. Kendrick Lamar - I loved the single that Dr. Dre produced a few years ago, but man, it's not fun seeing him live. Why don't hip hop acts always have live bands now? The cat's out of the bag.
Release the hounds.

There are a lot of bands I can't dig in the recent times. I just can't really figure it out, but listening to their music sends me off into a day-dream of shooting myself through each nipple prior to blowing my brains out haha My top bands I really just don't like though are: Mumf & sons, (and bands like them: lumineers, of monsters and men, edward sharpe) i know everyone would hate me for this answer but to me their music is all just that "wanna be folky" music and I just can't get into it.
Haha, I know what you mean Dave, but I posted this on facespace the other day and dozens of comments later I realized that everyone has their own acts like this, and many of them will catch you off guard.
I've tried a lot with TV on the Radio but I figure it would take seeing them live to really "get" it. Of Montreal I have only heard a bit from and would have to give them more of a listen.

See now I love all of those bands that so lovingly use the word "hey"
Neutral Milk Hotel (sorry, !). I appreciate the talent & acknowledge their hipster cult following (and even plan to see them on tour), but sonically they just never hit my sweet spot. Maybe I need to see 'em live?
Also, Flaming Lips. Seen 'em plenty; still never had that religious experience/make me wanna drink their Kool-Aid & follow 'em around on tour forever moment like w/MMJ or The National.
Can not stand Mumford and Sons, it is notorious with my friends on how much i hate this band. I've listen to their albums, don't get it, don't like it, and i don't want to like it.

can't forget the ever so important counter balance of the "ho!"

Bon Iver, Avett Brothers, Mumford and Sons, Passion Pit, Grizzly Bear, Japandroids, Frank Ocean, The XX........not that I totally hate these band but very very bland to my ears.
You take your dirty lies and you get out of here. You GET. THE HELL. OUTTA. HERE!
Seriously though recent bands I don't find enjoyable are as follows:
1. Macklemore
2. Lumineers
3. Passion Pit
4. Death Grips
Honorable mention goes to Wilco. I like slower music so that's not the issue but I don't know if I have found the right album or what yet but it just hasn't been getting me. I would of liked to check them out at Bonnaroo but didn't get a chance to. I am open to suggestions on this to be swayed

I find myself liking this thread more than I had expected to. Bird
I'm with everyone who's mentioned The National - man they just bore the hell outta me, first time I'd heard of them they were opening for Arcade Fire and it was torturous.
The Smiths...I HATE The Smiths and everything Morrisy has ever done really. That guy and his band are the worst. I just don't get it. Sooo boring to me.
And the one that will probably get me pilloried Van Morrison...His music just doesn't appeal to me in anyway.
EDIT: I forgot Jim Morrison. I love The Doors but Jim...fuck that guy.

Duuuude, ouch! Having had my face melted by Wilco last night (daaaamn, they covered a Beatles song w/Bob Weir?!?), this quackin' hurts.
No worries. Wilco's a grower for some folks. (Paging SupeЯfuЯЯyanimal!) There's a thread somewhere in here where SFA (or maybe Whoreshack & GL?) rank their albums according by style (some are more alt/country like A.M.; some are more pop like Wilco the Album & Summerteeth) so you can figure out where to start.

Daaaang! With one post, you crushed my & Mayo's hearts re: The National & The Smiths...then you stomped on the pieces w/the Van Morrison diss? *sigh*
