So I haven't seen anyone bring this up yet, but the festival looks like it has a worthwhile lineup and a very cool place to camp. They will allow open camp fires and tubing in the river, which sounds awesome. It's outside of Nashville to the northwest and I expect for people driving it's comparable to Roo. Also, it will be my 30th birthday weekend! Anyone else interested in possible getting a group together?

From the website...
FLY FREE TO WHAT MOVES YOU, THE RHYTHM IN YOUR SOUL.
Born from the desire to reach out to fans of all genres, sizes, shapes, and colors. We want your weird, your worries, your wonders. Think Creation. Community. Camaraderie. Unity. Diversity. Fun. Family. Freedom. Fly free for a weekend, make friends for a lifetime. The first annual FLY FREE Fest is happening at Red River Valley Park in Adams, TN, just 40 miles NW of Nashville. Here’s why that is superbly amazingly awesome:
Wooded River-side Campsites CANOEING. Campground Bathrooms/Showers Hot breakfast! The Gorgeous Red River Car-side Camping Late Night Music Morning Yoga Clean Portable Toilets Food/Beverage/Ice Sold On-Site Firewood Sold On-Site (open fires allowed at each campsite!) Swimming in the Red River Live Art Food/Art Vendors
I'd love to celebrate your birthday with you, but there's no way I could make this happen.
I know...it looks like Mountain Oasis can't happen for me this year because I'm busy every single weekend in October already, plus I will be in NYC running a marathon the first weekend in November. But this does look like a pretty fun festival, amirite?
I am a good 90% sure I will be at this one, will have to contact those in the know about where to park if not camping though. I may decide to camp anyway (we get campfires..mmm...smores!) but I live less than 30 minutes from Adams, so my bed and hot showers would be nice as well.

At this point I have no crew going with me, though that could easily change considering how much time we have. I'm just imagining the campfires, and swimming in the river, and LEGIT showers (even if the line is long). Plus October weather is my favorite, when it's finally starting to turn cool again after hot southern summers. I think this little festival could turn out to be a lot of fun, even if I roll solo.
I just found out about this festival! I live in Clarksville, which is like a 20 minute drive(if that)! I hope my wife can get the days off of work, but I am totally going either way. I started this summer at Roo, I am going to finish it with a non-mainstream music fest! Life is good! BTW one week after roo, I won tickets to see Bob Dylan on the river in Nashville. Let your freak flag fly, baby!
