Well I'm a pushover. I shouldn't have spent the money on the ticket but I did. When I realized that the standing room floor tickets were the same price as the balcony ($153 before fees) that definitely helped push me over the edge. I thought the floor seats would be the $228 but those are just for the "loge" which is between the upper balcony and the floor seats. I should be saving money but I figure I'm never really going to get this chance again (to see Neil in such a small theater). If I can manage to get relatively close or anywhere near where I was for the MMJ shows I will be extremely happy.

I literally forgot about the sale starting today. Then I looked at the time and was like "Oh yea...Neil." and figured they'd be all gone. I went to see if any were available (mistake #1) and they were. Then I saw the floor seats were cheaper and just got paid today so......yea. Shouldn't have but Neil is one of my top legend acts and I've seen him in a few incarnations (Solo, with Crazy Horse, with CSNY, with Buffalo Springfield) but never in a place where I'll be this close to him. Bucket list type of show for me.

Bacon said the same thing.....that if it had been a weekend he would have been there. So glad that I've been to the Capitol already so I know what I'm in for. Going to be an amazing show. Will be tired at work the next day but who gives a shit.
If the floor tickets were the $228 I wouldn't have pulled the trigger. Just the fact that they were the cheaper price made it a no-brainer.
I was in the same boat! Good ol' Neil for cheaping GA affordable -- well, relatively speaking of course. Neil actually devotes part of his book to talking about how much he loathes reserved floor seating at his shows and how he believes that GA floors should always be the cheapest option. He passes up a LOT of money that could be made by selling reserved floor seats, but he says it's worth it because with GA he gets the hardcore fans right in front of him, which leads to more energy and a better show.

I'm assuming he keeps with the same kind of setlists he's been playing but maybe he'll bust out a few random tunes. I can't wait. I need to re-listen to some of his more recent stuff and reacquaint myself.

Yeah - Neil Young is one of those few that I absolutely do not care at all about the setlist - he can play whatever he wants. Grateful Dead were like that for me too.
I saw two shows earlier in the tour, and while the setlists only had one song different from each other, the two shows were completely unique. No one jams like the Horse. Each song is a journey.

Agreed. Even when there are songs I don't recognize they are awesome.
Jimi Hendrix, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, and Jerry Garcia are like my Mount Rushmore of "How I got into real music" and 2 of those names I can't see anymore, and 1 of them I wouldn't pay $170 for a ticket so the fact that I'll get to see a musical hero of mine in a relatively small venue just makes me so happy.

Here is probably the smallest venue I have seen Neil play. Special show: I have a T somewhere

Disc 2 1. Old Man 2. Horseshoe Man 3. Kansas 4. Harvest Moon 5. Slowpoke 6. Long May You Run 7. E1: Good to See You Again 8. From Hank to Hendrix 9. E2: Down By the River

damn.. im in the same boat except I didn't even look when they went on sale because I assumed the 200+ was for GA... still isn't saying sold out but in other carts right now so crossing my fingers

I assumed that as well. Was very surprised and that's what caused my dilemma right when I went to the ticket site.
Edit: About the fees....yea that's lame but whatever. Can't stand paying these fees but i've sort of accepted them as something I can't really avoid in most cases.

So I'm thinking they might be done with fall dates? I'm pretty pissed I didn't go for Port Chester Tickets now. Had I realized it was on Labor Day I probably would have.
Due to an accident involving Crazy Horse, the remaining dates on the Neil Young and Crazy Horse tour of Europe and the British isles have been cancelled. We are sorry for any inconvenience this causes to our fans or the Festivals where we were scheduled to appear. As you must be, we too are disappointed at this unfortunate turn of events.

Young and his band were expected to play a mix of headlining dates and festival appearances between tonight and August 19. Hopefully the group's North American dates aren't in jeopardy.
UPDATE: According to Rolling Stone, guitarist Frank "Poncho" Sampedro broke his hand leading to the cancellations.

praying this doesn't effect the cap show or interlocken!
There was an update that they plan/hope to make the North American shows:
Neil Young and Crazy Horse have canceled the final seven dates of their European tour because guitarist Frank "Poncho" Sampedro broke his hand. "It's a mild fracture," a source close to the Young camp tells Rolling Stone. "He's expected to make a complete recovery in time for the North American tour." The group has been on tour for much of the past year, and they played yesterday in Oslo, Norway.

Well, shit.
Bad news, Neil Young fans: Crazy Horse pianist Poncho Sampredo has injured his hand and will need extra time to heal up, forcing the cancellation of some of their upcoming tour dates, including September 2 show at Port Chester's Capitol Theatre. The full list of canceled shows:
8/31 Dundas, ON - Greenbelt Harvest Picnic 9/02 Port Chester, NY - Capitol Theatre 9/04 Ottawa, ON - Ottawa Folk Festival 9/07 Arrington, VA - Interlocken Music Festival
For now, Farm Aid at Saratoga Springs on September 21 is still on. Official word from the band: "We are sorry for any inconvenience this causes to our fans or the Festivals where we were scheduled to appear. As you must be, we too are disappointed at this unfortunate turn of events."

Can someone tell me if Neil is prohibited from playing Interlochen with the bands already scheduled just becase Crazy Horse is not performing? I imagine Neil was going to jam at least once with Warren Haynes or Derek Trucks....no? This also opens a full headline spot for the Allman Brothers ... just sayin... and oh! Btw...I did just get my VIP ticket in themail today! I still psyched...hope all the other bands are too! This is motivation for all to go FURTHUR if you will inyo their sets :-)
