For some reason a lot of people on here think Spicy Pie is overrated and shizzy pizza. I think it's a delicious pie.
Are the people complaining from Connecticut? Because I think people from Connecticut complain about pizza as a pastime. I had spicy pie and it was delicious. I am sad that I won't be able to eat it this year. I miss pizza in general!!
Get yourself a nice pie for lunch or dinner today.

There's an old saying in Connecticut. "If you don't like the weather, well, then, go f*ck yourself."
Which is my way of saying we're prickly by nature.

I do love some famous Ray's pizza in NYC. That being said there's this pizza place here in Sunrise, FL called Poppy's Pizza and it's probably some of the best pizza I've ever had. London England makes some pretty bomb pizza too. I am on a mission to try pizza's around the world.
Yesssss. We have a killer Vietnamese restaurant here in town. They have a drink called the P40 (M40 maybe? not sure exactly) But it's iced espresso with condensed milk, it's amazing.
Pistachios. Especially pistachio pudding. And definitely pistachio pudding mixed w/ whipped cream inside a hollowed out angel food cake. Seriously did anyone else's Mom make that for them growing up? It was my birthday cake every year
Ever had watergate salad? It's so old school, and so tasty. pistachio pudding, crushed pineapple, cool whip, and mini marshmallows! this is definitely underrated.
But for some reasons people in NYC and New Haven hold on to these insane beliefs that the only good pizza comes from within their cities, as if those techniques can't possibly be recreated outside the city lines.
And yet there are five Pepe's locations now outside New Haven. Had the one in Danbury been open while I was in college, I would have gone broke broke.
Speaking of underrated things, I prefer Bar over Pepe's - and never been to Sally's.

Oooooooo no I haven't! That looks like a slightly higher class Ambrosia Salad...
and I do mean slightly. Also underrated, everything in the White Trash Cooking cookbook
the Ninth Doctor. don't get me wrong, Tennant is clearly my fave, but Eccleston was more than decent and never gets any credit.
I respectfully disagree. I loved Tennant and never thought I'd be able to move on but once I got over his giant head I've come to like Matt Smith even more. Eccleston was hard to get attached to. I think that he was the coldest of the new trio. I rarely go back and rewatch his eps.

I didn't love Eccleston either, but I just feel like he gets a lot of hate... and he wasn't terrible, IMO. and Smith has grown on me but who could ever be better than Tennant? the man was genius. that wink/grin combo, plus the chucks, and all the dashing about... seriously. although I have gotten used to Smith and his giraffe neck, I'll always be a Rose and Ten fan I am dying to know who is taking over though- my daughter is holding out for Benedict Cumberbach.

Ruh-roh, this discussion again? Heh. Out of the new 3, I like Matt Smith the best. I think that may be more due to the fact that I favor Stephen Moffat's writing/directing/producing better than Russell Davies. Probably also due to that Karen Gillan is my favorite companion. All of the incarnations of the Doctor put their own spin on the role, that's the deal. There is no right or wrong way to play the Doctor. I wasn't a huge fan of Eccleston's sour grapes as he left the show.

No, but people here, especially New Haven county, won't ever shut the f*ck up about how their pizza is the best ever. Which is comical, because in this day and age it's not like good pizza is some provincial thing that can only be had in one locale, be it New Haven, New York, Chicago, whatever. You can get a great thin-crust pizza just about anywhere, just like you can get a good deep dish in cities that aren't Chicago. But for some reasons people in NYC and New Haven hold on to these insane beliefs that the only good pizza comes from within their cities, as if those techniques can't possibly be recreated outside the city lines.
I will say... the white clam pizza at Pepe's is one of my fondest food memories. I'll give New Haven the market on white clam pizza. I honestly don't know what they do to it to make it NOT disgusting...I assume its magic. Because white clam pizza SHOULD be terrible, and there, its just not.
But I honestly never turned down a slice of pizza in my life, til I couldn't eat it anymore. I even like Rhode Island 'party pizza' you get cold in wax paper at gas stations, and that cracker-crust Greek pizza (also a RI thing I think). Pizza is the greatest food ever.

I have no complaints about Tennant. I just have grown more attached to Smith. As Vector Viking mentioned, Karen Gillan is a big part of it. (And I'm really engjoying Coleman as well.)
Are we sure that Matt Smith is actually leaving? He's signed on for Season Eight as far as I know.
