I saw on Sportscenter earlier that Tennessee plays Oregon in Eugene in a few weeks.
I'm expecting the Beavers to get creamed in Autzen, and we're 25-35 ranks higher up the poll than the Vols.
Thanks for the newsflash considering I marked this game as a loss in this thread months ago. Is there any particular reason you repeatedly bring up your belief that UT is going to have a terrible season this year? Even sang_xcx shows restraint in this area.

I felt the need to talk shit in the thread. Everyone else rips on Clemson cause of Sang, I just wanted to do something different. Not sure why I picked the Vols.
so Clowney never even hit Renner but he was so scared that he rushed throws all night. that guy is a good qb but he looked horrible tonight. he was scared to death. Clowney could never catch him because he is out of shape. he was out there huffing and puffing, hands on his hips or even on the sideline a lot. reminds me of the way Sammy Watkins was last year after his suspension. he never did get into full game shape for whatever reason. hoping the same is true of Clowney. but I gotta say it is impressive to be able to effect a game without ever making a play.

I noticed that as well. There appeared to be conditioning issues with both defenses, but Clowney's really stood out to me. It will be interesting to see if it is a beginning of the season thing or something ongoing with him because South Carolina really needs him to live up to the hype for them to have the kind of season they are supposed to have.
Apparently, I need to go back and watch that Vandy-Miss game. I didn't even start it because I knew I wouldn't be able to come close to finishing it.
Seriously though, UT has at least 4 wins on lockdown unless everyone is missing their guess totally. For example, the line on tomorrow's game vs. Austin Peay is 50. I love UT and all but I would probably take Austin Peay.
Dave Maynar, for you this year I am going to pull for Tennessee to win every weekend. Especially October 19th! Won't you do the same for me??
Every week except this week is the best that I can do. Sorry, sang_xcx makes it impossible to wish for an undefeated season for your guys.
If it makes you feel any better, I think Georgia is going to be their toughest regular season game, so if they can make it past them, you should raise your hopes of this being the year quite a bit.
What is your prediction for tomorrow's game btw? I think UT wins 45-10 over Austin Peay.

I hate making predictions but here goes. Clemson 38, Georgia 35
That's not a bad one. I think Georgia will win, but it'll be close because either team has a good shot at winning. Anyone who puts a big spread on that game is silly.

I almost always avoid betting on Week 1 of college football, for the most part. If I were to bet on the Clemson-UGA game I would take the under. It could potentially be high scoring, but I think the combination of the UGA offense in a rowdy environment and Clemson offense against that defense will result in a lower score that Vegas has laid out. But there is big play potential on both sides, as well, which could result in more points.

Clowney's statement on last night was that he had a stomach virus Wednesday night which kept him up most of the night puking. I guess we'll see if he is FOS next week.
