The guy is going to be indicted for criminal activities, of course I realize how bad this is.
I honestly think this could be Mike Pettine already getting Haslam's ear and basically telling him what a worthless piece of shit Mike Lombardi is.
The article does note that Lombardi was a big Chud supporter. He probably ended up in one of those "toe the party line or gtfo" situations.
I was thinking more along the lines of JOHNNY FOOTBAW!!, since Pettine seems like the type of guy who would punch JF in the face on the first day of practice, while Lombardi seems like someone who would throw his coat down over a puddle to keep JF's shoes from getting soggy.

Rumor has it that Lombardi getting shit canned has been in the work since the Chud debacle. Apparently Haslam was tired of hearing about him, and a meeting with Peyton put it over the top. When he decided to promote Ray and give him control of football opps, cutting Banner off at the knee's (it wasn't a long drop since he's 5'2") Banner had to go. He WAS the defacto GM, even though Lamebardi had the title.
We get our franchise back. Who know's if Ray Farmer will do a good job, but at least he's earned the chance. People I know in the league speak very highly of him.

You're just too young to grasp how stylin' I really was. All the boys wanted to do me when I was 5. Actually the girls did too. My haircut was confusing.

I highly doubt Lamebardi will be back on NFLN, they weren't renewing his contract when Banner brought him in to town. What role does Banner fill for another team? If he is insistent on having a say in football operations, there isn't a role for him anywhere. Not even Oakland is dysfunctional enough to make that mistake.

The Raiders are moving towards respectability (shocking, I know), keep an eye out for them.
I'd be willing to bet that Lombardi goes back on TV, but maybe this time its ESPN. ESPN and NFLN intermingle quite a bit.

He's definitely better at gossip than grading tape. Just glad to see him go, now hopefully Haslam gets out of the way and let's these guys work.

I could see the Raiders on thier way to being the Blackhawks of the NFL (stay with me here...). The old owner stuck to his own way passes away and passes the reigns on to the next generation who has a more open view of things and is willing to listen to and install new ideas. Throw in the built in parody in the NFL and they easily could be competitive simply by getting out of thier own way. To take that to next level of consistency like the Blackhawks have been able to do would be a harder task but simply changing the culture of the organization into a team capable of winning because of thier decisios instead of in spite of thier decisions is not.
"The Report concludes that three starters on the Dolphins offensive line, Richie Incognito, John Jerry and Mike Pouncey, engaged in a pattern of harassment directed at not only Jonathan Martin, but also another young Dolphins offensive lineman and an assistant trainer," Wells said in a statement.
"The Report finds that the assistant trainer repeatedly was the object of racial slurs and other racially derogatory language; that the other offensive lineman was subjected to homophobic name-calling and improper physical touching; and that Martin was taunted on a persistent basis with sexually explicit remarks about his sister and his mother and at times ridiculed with racial insults and other offensive comments.
"The Report rejects any suggestion that Martin manufactured claims of abuse after the fact to cover up an impetuous decision to leave the team. Contemporaneous text messages that Martin sent to his parents and others months before he left the Dolphins -- which have never before been made public -- corroborate his account that the persistent harassment by his teammates caused him significant emotional distress.
"The Report concludes that the harassment by Martin's teammates was a contributing factor in his decision to leave the team, but also finds that Martin's teammates did not intend to drive Martin from the team or cause him lasting emotional injury," the press release said.
Yeah, Richie, you've definitely been exonerated of all charges, you big idiot.

While its easy to see why there could be a debate about how Martin handled things, what he could have done differently, the role being bi-polar played etc,... I find it remarkable there are so many people that supported Incognito along the way and still do. People dont want to have all the information these days, they just want to be right. They hear basic details of this specific issue and easily dismiss it as Martin is a baby, etc. When the facts about Incognito's past are explained to them, they dont want to hear that because it doesnt support thier arguement that it's all Martins fault. Richie has layers of issues.

I had a guy try to take down Wells' report because he "wasn't an NFL OL so he doesn't understand the dynamic between teammates."
"Okay. What about the racial barrage they threw at the Korean-bored assistant coach?"

*brain explodes*
That to me was the kicker. I mean, you sure have to be some sort of tough to bully an assistant trainer, eh? How weak is Incognito build relationships that way.
It's going to be great watching the NFL turn things like "86% of NFL players polled by ESPN said they wouldn't have an issue with a gay teammate" into a media circus for whatever team actually drafts Sam.
