I think there were a large amount of people expecting drops and wobbles and lasers and pew pew pew and 1000 bpm and fist pumps and ohhhhhh sometimes, I get a good feeling, and are summarily confused by being tossed headfirst back into the 1970s.

I feel like most people are only aware of the Alive album, but their album work is completely different, which is part of what makes them so great. They release these slinky disco albums, then when they tour they transform the whole thing into more traditional EDM style bangers.
I was listening to this song all weekend. It is absolutely amazing, my younger brother (big current gen edm fan) was looking for the big drops and da bass. Was sick of my playing it by the end. Doesn't think it is that great and i think that is exactly attributed to what Mr. Homer J. Fong stated. It is SUCH a good song though. I can't wait for the album. How could this possibly lose album of the month for May.
09: Minutes of absolute brilliance on the Giorgio Moroder-featuring ‘Giorgio by Moroder’ – and we’re pretty sure that the completely over the top descending drum hit that closes the track was only included to take it to the nine minute mark.
(8)08: The model of Roland drum machine backing up Panda Bear on late highlight ‘Doin’ it Right’.

I was enjoying the song when I first heard it, but I'll admit it didn't all come together until the part with the daft punkian robot voices. It all kind of hit me then, a heavy emotional blow to my stomach brain and eyes, that this is new Daft Punk.
