My bad. The King Tuff is just a rerelease of Was Dead. Speedy Ortiz is good. Definitely worth checking out.
I haven't listened to a bunch of those either. I've been slacking this month.
Speedy Ortiz are not twee sounding, are they?
Nope. Female singer whose voice could possibly get on your nerves, but I liked her voice. I definitely got what I can only presently describe as a "90s vibe" from the album though. I need to revisit before I go making any more accusations, but it sounded pretty great IMO after the first listen.

Other highlights were: F*ck Buttons - Slow Focus Locrian - Return to Annihilation (Turns out this was June 25th, but I didn't hear about it until last week. Great stuff, tho.) James Holden - The Inheritors Tay Allyn - Mass Text
Moderat is August, else it'd have given this a run for its money. Run the Jewels was just on the other side of July and would've fallen into the same category.
I was underwhelmed by Jay-Z, Gogol, Thundercat, and Speed Ortiz.
The only other albums that I can think of for this month that I liked a lot were James Holden, Blondes, and Weekend. AlunaGeorge and David Lynch both had their moments, but weren't terribly consistent.
edit: Woops, it's been pointed out Blondes is August.
Didn't care for Gogol. Jay Z was good, but didnt do much for me and really. Pet shop boys started strong but lost me on a few tracks. Really enjoyed Weekend and Speedy Ortiz, but Fuck Buttons stole this month for me.
Thundercat, David Lynch, Speedy Ortiz, Pet Shop Boys, Bass Drum of Death, Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros, Gogol Bordello, Lustmord, Ghostface Killah, Black Tusk, Buddy Guy, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Tech N9ne.
Ghostface Killah dropped an album this month? Say what?
