I wonder how different a Warren superjam set would be from a Mule set though?
More covers, different (more famous possibly) musicians, less Mule tunes. Maybe focus on a theme like Grateful Dead tunes or something. I was just thinking about another possible Superjam and other musicians who have played the fest a bunch and are liked by the promoters/crowd. Warren seemed like one of them. I figured they have a "soul" one and a "bluegrass" one so they likely wouldn't go that direction again. I doubt there'd be a rap superjam. Jam music seemed like a good bet.
Another thing that would be a bit more surprising/cool (to me anyway) would be the lead singer of Portugal. The Man playing with some other people. Like no one real leader but Roo just puts together random guys/gals to play.

Lotto superjam. Put everyone's name in a hat and draw ten out at random. Tell them to go nuts.
Last few setlists have them not playing Kids. It's a good song that's fun live, but I'm totally cool with them dropping it. It just doesn't fit the sound they're going after now.
See, I think that's kinda pretentious and summers breezey. That song, without a doubt, made them. They wouldn't have half the fans they have now, if it were not for that one song.
To decide not to play that song, which brings in over half the people at their show, is weenieish.
I suppose. At the same time, I understand why they're doing it. They wrote that tune in maybe 2002 and its clearly an abnormality (sound-wise) compared to the stuff they're releasing now. I guess theyre saying they don't want the audience that's there just to hear that one tune? And they're still playing Electric Feel and Time To Pretend.
His current tour is celebrating 35 years of bauhaus, could be a good show

If !!! and MGMT can both pan out, I only need any one of Andrew bird, Beirut or She & Him. I'd say my chances of winning these beer bets has risen to.... 40%

The thing is that they actively don't want the popularity those songs brought them. From what they've said, it seems like they'd be much happier to play their songs they like to crowds 1/10th the size. That was half the concept behind Congratulations, making an album they wanted to make, that would clear out the people who wanted Kids 2.0.
But they are playing Free Press in Houston. Woo-hoo!
I've never seen these guys. I thought last year when they had a break during Roo following a European tour there was a good chance they might be on the farm. No luck.
I don't mean to drop names but It's so weird that people talk about the men playing Roo. My roommate is friends with the drummer and sometimes he crashes on my futon. I should of asked him months ago if they were playing.

Peter Murphy Sun, April 28 - Pensacola FL @ Vinyl Music Hall
I'll be at this one.
Vinyl is an awesome little music hall. I miss it. Saw Los lonely boys and halestorm there. Good pizza place just down from it with a good micro brew selection. My only complaint about vinyl was the lack of good beer and whiskey selection.

That would mean they'd play 10 shows in a row. Wow, I'm already impressed with the 9 shows they have planned. I'd say it's possible, but I don't think it's going to happen.
I think Icona Pop could make a chance as an addition.
"I’m quite thrilled to announce a new bluegrass project featuring Bryan Sutton, Ronnie McCoury, Luke Bulla, and Barry Bales."
I just googled all his projects. You're talking about another project. He has 4 touring bands.
1. Unnamed band (Bryan Sutton, Ronnie McCoury, Luke Bulla, and Barry Bales) 2. Noam & Friends (Bryan Sutton, Luke Bulla, Barry Bales and Larry Cobb) 3. w/ Tim O'Brien 4. Punch Brothers

I just got outread by a European. To redeem myself, I will say that I noticed this on the re-read.
"And speaking of festivals, I’m quite thrilled to be returning to Bonnaroo to be part of the unveiling of the new Bluegrass Situation Stage!"
baconus66 and itrainmonkeys, please say this hasn't been brought up before. Failing twice at reading one article would be sad.

No worries Dave Maynar, it doesn't matter that much.
I just found at that Larry Cobb is the drummer for Kevin Costner & The Modern West. (To be honest, I have all his albums and listen to them on a very regular basis.)
