Ha, the opposite happened to me. I saw Guns and Roses at Wembley a few years ago and I thought "man, My Bloody Valentine is opening? That's weird but awesome." Nope, Bullet for My Valentine.

I only got a chance to listen to the first song of the new album last night, as I have been acquainting myself with Loveless. I'm loving it.
Would you guys say the new album picked up right where they left off? A bit if a time capsule? Or is it more evolved? This band really intrigues me. The fact that loveless took 2 years to make, and them reuniting in 2007, how long do you think they worked on this one? Or do you think it's a lot of previously "shelved" music Kevin Sheilds wrote while the band was inactive?
Forgive my ignorance, but I've never given them a chance. One reason is just like many of you I get them confused with Bullet for My Valentine. But my love for Deerhunter is drawing me into this band as I'm sure they must be big Deerhunter inspirations.
Did some searching around and of course Lockett Pundt credits My Bloody Valentine as a big influence. This fact-finding mission also revealed Stereolab to be possibly their biggest influence, so they will be my next stop on this musical journey
