I was curious to see if they address that in the movie or if it's just a random title. Like if he's called a hipster or tries to defend himself against that label or something.

Ohhhhh. I know I talked this fIlm up already, but I'm gonna do it again.
Saw this film at the Cleveland International Film Festival in the spring. The lead role is played by Dominic Bogart, and was written specifically with him in mind. He is from Ohio, so I was able to meet him and the other actors at the showing. I helped Kickstart this broad release and the DVD release. I have 3 pre-release copies at home, and we'll be watching it this weekend at our "Winter Fest".
I love this movie. And it isn't so much the title of "Hipster" that he is defending against. Rather, his character and his friends are stereotypical "Hipsters", and this movie fleshes them out to be more complex than a mere label. In fact, the term "Hipster" isn't used much, maybe at all come to think of it.
The soundtrack "Canines" is awesome. And one of the other musician characters "Spaceface", is also releasing an album soon.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.

Cool, I kind of got that vibe from the trailers. Like, the first time through I laughed at the guys line about using his unemployment check to get all these fancy parts for his bicycle.....kinda funny. But when I re-watched the trailer it looks like that guy is getting ready for some kind of race/bike event thing and that made me the part about making his bike nicer make a bit more sense.
Thanks for the info. Looking forward to seeing this.
