Crowes/Ryman Theater tickets went on sale at 10:13 CST for 4/20 and 4/21. I was logged into my TicketMaster account, with credit card data verified, at the exact time tickets went on sale. Had two browser windows open, one for each show.
Snagged good seats for both shows. Completed each of the pages (search, captcha, confirm details, etc.) in well less than the time that the countdown clock at the lower right-hand corner of the screen demanded. And when I hit the "Submit -- Your Credit Card Will Be Charged" button, for each show I saw "UNABLE TO PROCESS YOUR REQUEST -- PLEASE TRY AGAIN."
And by the time I did, tickets were sold out.
Quack YOU, TICKETMASTER. What, were you showing multiple parties the same "reserved" tickets and then selling them to whomever hit the "submit" button first? Is it that I had two windows open? If so, why didn't you tell me that wasn't allowed?

Still just RAGING over this. This was my birthday weekend -- all I wanted to do was go hang out in Nasvhille with my wife, take her out to a nice dinner Saturday night, see the Crowes' electric show, spend the night in a nice hotel, wake up and have a stroll around the city, do some shopping and have a nice Sunday afternoon happy hour, see the Crowes' acoustic show, then head home all glowing and happy…but along comes quacking Ticketmaster and pisses down my back. Wonderful.

Yeah, I don't think you can have two Ticketmaster windows open. I believe that happened to me about a year ago, but it didn't sell out before I figured out the problem. That sucks, man.

That's what you get for wanting to see the Black Crowes. Maybe next time you'll think it over.
This really isn't the right time for your "good taste" malarky.
Edit: that word should be b u l l s h i t, but since I'm probably already in trouble with the mods for this thread, I figure I might as well go ahead and ring the bell.

Crap. Here's the TOU langage:
"Multiple Browser Windows
When ordering tickets online with us, please ensure you are looking for tickets and placing an order using only one browser window. Looking up tickets using multiple browser windows could result in losing your tickets or timer expiration."
But I was looking up tickets for TWO DIFFERENT SHOWS.

don't matter. What you need is a team mate to do this kinda mess with. One of you gets one pair of tix for a show while the other gets a pair of tix to other show. That's how them shizs is done when it's two shows going on sale at the same time that will both sell out.

I do not have a problem with the thread itself. But it seems the answer to your frustration has been discovered. Multiple browser tabs. Live and learn, I suppose.
Yet it is in this loneliness that the deepest activities begin. It is here that you discover act without motion, labor that is profound repose, vision in obscurity, and, beyond all desire, a fulfillment whose limits extend to infinity.

When wanting to do this, use two different browsers (ie: Firefox and Chrome), rather than two windows in one browser.

Not a complete disaster...managed to get GA tickets for 4/23 to their show at the Tabernacle in Atlanta. And they're in the area and have open dates during Roo, so there's always the chance I'll get to see them on the farm.
I get--in theory--the reason behind the multiple-window blockade. Scalpers, etc.
But it seems like it'd be good for the general welfare for Ticketmaster to have a "warning -- multiple browser windows detected" alert that pops up at the top of the purchasing page, though...this is VERY common on the interwebz and seems like a basic customer courtesy.
But when did Ticketbastard ever give a flying quack about the general welfare? I haven't bought a ticket through them in something like five years. I go almost exclusively to local band shows -- we live way out in the sticks and if we want to go to a major venue, it's a major hassle. Travel and hotel rental and finding somebody to take care of our daughter.
Ah well. Slowly regaining my sense of humor. And thanks, Gibran, I appreciate the support. Lesson absolutely learned, although it's more of an RIAA-style, quack-the-fan lesson than anything else.

Eh, I was just yanking your chain there, gramps. No harm meant. Ticketmaster does eat a whole bag of weenies, I'm with you on that.
Yeah, I missed out on the 4/20 show as well. I logged in one minute after on-sale, and I was not even able to get two together at that time. Blame Ticketbastard as always, but also the scalpers.

I'm usually all in agreement for saying "F*ck Ticketmaster". This year though, I got a $100 gift card for Christmas. I'll hold off on the hatred till I spend that.

So what $50 show you gonna spend it on?
I dunno yet. The funny thing is where I'm at MusicToday has this market. Shows, sporting events, everything. I could have used it for Nick Cave but if all else fails .. We have $100 towards Mt. Oasis (whenever)

This is exactly why I did not make it into MSG for the Phish NYE show this year.
