Since they had Alice Cooper last year and GWAR in 2010 (did they have an equivalent in 2011?), it's looking like Roo is starting to make a routine out of bringing at least one rock group with a theatrical side to them for the late-night acts. I only saw a little bit of GWAR in 2010 because I saw Jay-Z then the Disco Biscuits, and didn't go last year so I'm really hoping they have one of these groups when I go back in '13.
The only groups I thought of for this slot are Rammstein and Marilyn Manson (I'd much prefer Rammstein personally). Think either of those bands would be a possibility? And who else could fill this role?
Rammstein are at Download Festival that weekend. Marilyn Manson could be possible I guess, though unlikely. Rob Zombie maybe?
I like Zombie, and I'd go see him LN, but I don't know if it'd be possible. He always use a massive stage set up that I don't think could be scaled down enough for a tent. And a tent is really the only thing I think he'd play at the 'Roo.
I saw Manson open for Zombie in Atlanta right before Halloween, I was a big nu-metal/90's hard rock kid in my teens and went with my parents (55 yr old metal heads). Manson disappointed me in that he was a chubby out of breath version of his former self. He lowered many of his choruses by about an octave and let the crowd do an inordinate amount of the singing with him just standing there holding the mic out.
On the other hand, Rob Zombie put on one of the most impressive shows I've seen in a long time. On top of every song, entertaining and powerful. Reminded me greatly of Cooper's late night set and come to think of it, he covered School's Out in his encore as well.
Point being, I'd love a Zombie latenight on the farm.

Completely agree with this, he had 20 foot automatons on stage marching about lol, along with a multitude of other theatrics. Though I wouldn't of thought that Cooper's Black Widow setup would of been tent-able as well and it was, so who knows.

If it helps, I saw Cooper and Zombie on tour together about 2 years ago. Zombie's stage set up was at least twice of Cooper's, if not larger. Plus Zombie uses alot of video screens tons. But, hey, if he could pull something off, I'd be right there.

I would love to see My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult in a shock rock spot or even something with The Jim Rose Circus (shame they have not been on the farm yet)

Ministry is one of the heaviest bands on earth, and the 3 times I've seen them had pretty cool shows, albeit nothing compared to Gwar and Zombie. Just alot of screens and fences in front of the crowd and strobes lights.

...and uncle al grabbing his crotch and dog cussing and picking fights with fans while he sings into a micro phone with a fake vagina on it on a mic stand that is a crucifix made of antlers. Ministry is the most relentless band I've seen live. I thought the world was going to end.

I saw this tour too, Manson was a MESS and I think his band knew it. They sounded pretty good but he was just screaming and singing terribly off-key.
Zombie on the other hand, WOW! He did an awesome job and his stage show was probably one of the most entertaining I've ever seen. It was so campy and cheesy and the best part is, Zombie knows that. He did a good job of mixing White Zombie material with his solo stuff. I'd def be down for a Which LN show.

Yeah I have never seen a bad Rob Zombie show whereas I have seen bad Manson shows. I hope whatever they decide to bring to the farm rocks as well as Cooper did last year

its almost weird to me that deathklok hasn't been at roo yet. what about slipknot? obviously they'd probably have to have which stage if they played ln. but i could see it.
That bums me out about MM. That was an amazing show when insane it in like 95. Really enjoyed it. Especially the massive energy during Reflecting God holy shiz.
Zombie was always good, seen WZ 5 times but back in the day.

this is definitely not true. i've seen him 5 times and only 3 of those did he have his massive stage setup. i've seen him in smaller venues and on the second stage at ozzfest and his stage setup was pretty scaled back. still an awesome rob zombie show but just no giant catwalks and crap behind him. he could easily fit into a tent.
