Really hoping Roo can book HTDA for a Thurs. or LN show. In a perfect world it's be HTDA > The Knife late night on Friday. Their full-length is due out around Roo and they just put out a new EP. Trent confirmed they'd be doing some live shows and he's always been a fan of festivals with NIN so we can hope!
This would be amazing. Im really curious how the set up of their live show will be (what kind of band). I wonder if they will do any NIN songs or if trent will keep this completely separate.
And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know you realize that life goes fast - It's hard to make the good things last-you realize the sun doesn't go down - It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round
"Aside from destroy angel's new EP, what's next for you? "
A number of things. Tweaking some things for the HTDA full LP (coming in Spring), helping Josh out on a new QOTSA track, working with Roy, starting rehearsals for two bands.

Could you talk a little bit about how involved you were with the lighting setups for your NIN shows?
I went to Lights in the Sky in 2008 and I have to say it was the best lighting / visual setup that I've ever seen at a concert. How does that all come together? Do you plan out the setlists and then sync up specific lighting sequences to the songs beforehand or is it a bit more of a live, fluid process? I would kill to see NIN again, what a great show.

Thank you. I spend a lot of time and energy thinking about how music is presented live. Lights in the Sky was probably my favorite live show I've worked on so far. This was a real collaboration between myself, Rob, Roy Bennett, and Moment Factory. We set out to make an experience and I really felt proud to put that on every night. Cryptic additional comment: 2013.
I have a feeling Trent is planning another big Lights In The Sky type show for NIN this summer. Robin Finck is rumored to be back on board with NIN, but the rest of the lineup is still mysterious. I hope they bring back Alessandro Cortini, the last tour they did, including the Bonnaroo show didn't have the industrial/electronic vibe the band had when they had when they had someone doing keyboards/synths live.
Full-length debut is due in March. have a feeling they dropped this news now due to the heavy rumors that they'll be on the Coachella lineup announced next week. Have to believe if they're doing festivals Bonnaroo has a good chance of booking them, Trent seemed to like Roo enough to make it NIN's last large North American show before he put them on hiatus. I'm thinking they'd be a good late-night option...

I would like to see NIN again. I remember him saying in 2009 that the Bonnaroo show was going to be the last U.S. NIN show and I thought we were seeing history. But I certainly am glad for Trent to bring them out of retirement.

HTDA wouldn't play Thursday because of Trent is equal to Puscifer wouldn't play Thursday because of Maynard. In fact I could see them getting the Puscifer spot in That Tent.
