What about the whole "Beach Boys have sold more albums than Fleetwood Mac (by a lot) and played the What Stage on Sunday and didn't headline" thing?
Get these "facts" out of here. They have no place in Troo.
The "facts" are that the Beach Boys toured with negligible production, playing amphitheaters and concert halls that held a few thousand people, 10 at the most.
Fleetwood Mac tours are a big freakin' deal, and incredibly expensive to put on. They play coliseums and arenas that hold tens of thousands. Lindsey Buckingham calls them the "big machine" for a very good reason. Be assured that, in the instance they were to play Bonnaroo, it would be at night, on the What Stage, and with no one behind them.

Oh, well I guess we can just pack up and go home, this guy said it's a done deal.

Honest question: If a band can be such a strong rumor at this point to headline Glastonbury, is it that far off to think they would be a headliner at 'roo? Alot of media outlets are recycling around this rumor that FM will headline Glastonbury and also this:
"Festival boss Emily Eavis previously admitted that she would love to see them headline the Pyramid Stage in 2013." Eavis also said in the NME article that they are talking to potential headliners now and basically, FM is someone they'd like to talk to.
Are Glastonbury and 'roo similar in what they consider festival headliners, so to speak?

If they are announced as a headliner for Glastonbury then I would believe they would headline Roo. Until then I see them as a Buffalo Springfield/Beach Boys type act. 4th or 5th on the lineup in a primetime non-headlining spot

That would make things interesting, but I still think they are the 4/5 billed classic band that Bonnaroo has been filling for the past few years.

Fleetwood Mac would headline. Too many hits and too many fans that still follow their every move. The only question would be which night...maybe a Sunday Closer?

Would Fleetwood Mac be a more popular act since its Tennessee? There music probably does resonate well with the country music market and Tennessee is the heart of that market. I wouldnt be surprised if Fleetwood Mac is our major classic act this year because it might bring in more locals who were on the fence about traveling around Tennessee to come.

I am going to hold out for the Louisville date in the chance they play Roo I would rather catch them there. Even though I am from kentucky it is almost as quick where I live to drive to Bonnaroo plus I hate Louisville and Lexington indeed I rarely travel to the Northern part of this state. I absouloutly abhore Louisville.

Their placement really could go either way.
I can't see someone following them on the What Stage after sundown unless it was McCartney, or another classic musician. They could be in the middle of the day. We wouldn't have guessed Beach Boys and Bon Iver to be in the middle of the day but they both were. I wouldn't think FM would headline, but Kings of Leon certainly did in 2010.
I think we're looking at either The Beach Boys spot or a headliner, but depending on the quality of the top 5 names, it really could go either way. If Paul McCartney happens, I don't think they'll headline. If he doesn't, I think they will.

I agree, with Macca as a strong rumor, a second "classic" headliner will most likely not happen. I could see them being billed 3rd in a situation where we have Widespread Panic playing 2 shows. Just like 2009 where Beastie Boys were billed 3rd but didn't exactly headline.
Where did this Widespread Panic thing come up? Are we really expecting two shows from them now?
I dunno, but I could see a scenario like 2009 happen with WP playing 2 shows instead of Phish.
1 big headliner (Bruce Springsteen -> Paul McCartney) 1 jam headliner + 2 shows (Phish -> Widespread Panic) 1 headliner small enough to not headline too (Beastie Boys -> Fleetwood Mac)
Spent the morning listening to live Fleetwood and I can't help picturing them in the Jack Johnson slot before Pearl Jam. What does that make them, pre headliner?
They just announced more tour dates. Chicago -June 14 Cleveland - June 15 Which would leave Sunday for them to come to the farm?
I will say that I am from the Cleveland area and the past 3 years I have gone to Bonnaroo - alot of headliners play Cleveland the same or very near Bonnaroo weekend. Seems to be close enough to travel yet far enough to beat any contractual limitations??? Either way - I would love to see them on the farm since I'm going to miss them in my hometown!
I guess its not 100% out of the question, but I find it highly unlikely that they'd play a show Saturday night and be ready to go by early evening Sunday
