And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know you realize that life goes fast - It's hard to make the good things last-you realize the sun doesn't go down - It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round
I dont understand the hate this band gets. They are one of the most fan friendly bands around. tour every summer. had their own festival, hold a cruise for fans, and put on a 6 hour concert march 11 every other year. they never play the same set twice and pull equally from all cds every show. GIVE ME 311!!!!
Nothing you posted about 311 has to do with the quality of their music. That's why they get a lot of hate.

excuse me, they are fantastic musicians who make great music that blends many genres. Chad Sexton is an absolutely amazing drummer and pnut is one of the most incredible bass players ive seen, on par with flea

That's the idea of this thread. We all have super great, pretentious taste in music. But every single one of us has groups that we never talk about that populate/d our itunes at one point. For some of us it was Phish, for some it was Incubus, for some it was Blink 182. Just because we love Flying Lotus and Nick Drake now doesn't change the fact that that all the other stuff was significant to our musical growth.
Marilyn Manson, please. Especially if they were to get him to play Antichrist Superstar. That was a seminal album for me in high school. I honestly don't know if this is something people would be generally down with or think is a shizzy idea. I'd love to have him there though.
Im so bummed i missed the date near me of the tour hes on with rob zombie now. Either one of them would be more than welcome. Also, i would love see no doubt but really i just want them sticking to songs from tragic kingdom and return to saturn. I played those albums out back in the day. Everything else theyve ever done is trash though

You have nothing to be sorry for. Slightly Stoopid is a versatile band that never disappoints in their live shows.
Only band I've seen live with dual-frontmen. (Yeah there's probably more, I just havent seen any live yet. Except Dispatch, they switched instruments a lot.)
I love how their setlists say "Swizzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz" whenever its time for them to switch on guitar/bass.
They are pioneers in their genre (young white boy reggae), with a solid punk background and phenomenal rock elements. Their hits and influence span over the past decade, at least.
It's my firm belief that Slightly Stoopid's popularity paved the way for bands like Rebelution, SOJA, Iration, The Green, and more. It birthed a new kind of reggae.
All I know is anytime Slightly Stoopid comes up.. I always think "why HAVEN'T they played Roo yet?!"

P-Nut of 311 actually is a pretty incredible bassist
I know, it's more about saying the guys who made this:
are "fantastic musicians."
I fully agree with you about amber. I cringe everytime i hear that song live. Maybe fantastic musicians made you think i was implying they were the greatest thing since sliced bread. I do however thing they are a very talented group of guys who are very underrated because of a few songs like amber.

I won tickets to see 311 and left after about 15 minutes. Turrible. Would hate to see "Sublime" with "Rome" as well with their one original Sublime member. If one of these bands had to play, I'd want Slightly Stoopid w/ Karl Denson.
I was listening to So yesterday, I'd forgotten what a fun album it is. Having Peter Gabriel on the farm would be a blast. As for Shameless Indulgences I'm going for some afternoons here - Indigo Girls k.d. Lang Lyle Lovett Cyndi Lauper
and as ashamed as I am to admit it - Bon Jovi and Def Leppard
