well at least i was right about our offense. no one else will score that much against fsu. should have been enough to win. but our defense is horrible.

Holy sh*t, funkybuttlovin likes the Yankees, Cubs AND Notre Dame? You sound like the worst person to hang out with sports-wise. And I mean that in a nice way.
And our mediocre offense did score 39 points on the best defense ever, at least according to the media this past week.
I will say that I think Clemson's scoring in the 2nd half had more to do with FSU's defense being good and making adjustments than Clemson's offense not being good. They tried a lot of things. It just seemed like FSU's defense was everywhere. Sang will hate this, but it was a lot like UT's game last week. Clemson was handling things the first half, but when things started to go wrong in the 2nd half, things went really wrong. They also made the mistake of getting FSU's crowd back into it. The crowd was thunderous after FSU took the lead. It had to have made playcalling and audibles much more difficult for Clemson.
On FSU's defense, the broadcasters were stepping back their praise of FSU's defense before the game. Instead of the gushing they had been doing, it was more "They're great buuuuut Clemson is not Murray St or Savannah St."

their defense stopped us when they had to. they also pretty much took sammy out of the passing game. if you told me before the game that we score 37, i definitely think we won. i knew our defense was struggling a bit, but i didn't expect fsu to put 49 on us.

Agreed. You can't give up 667 yards and expect to win. Also, did you know that Clemson has never beat a top 5 opponent on the road? That was surprising to me.

Glad to see that my Vols won last night, but the game didn't exactly spur my confidence that they'll do well in October. Apparently, a Wikipedia editor didn't think so either...

Dooley didn't do himself any favors last night. A lot of people are already grumbling about him getting fired, and that's at 3-1. Let's see how they sound at the end of October when we are likely to be 4-4 with the prospect of the 3 losses (Georgia, Bama, S Carolina) having the potential to be pretty brutal.

IMO at minimum he needs to win at least one of the next four games and play respectably for four quarters. If we start getting blown out in the second half like last year in one or more games I think he's gone. More importantly, if Dave Hart thinks a coaching change might be necessary, he may act sooner than later to avoid the situation that gave us Dooley in the first place.

Yup. Like I said previously, it's not so much that UT lost to Florida as it is that they got blown up in the 2nd half. I think they can take a blowout in Georgia or Bama, but Miss St and S Carolina have to be somewhat competitive. They also have to go flawless in November. A loss to Kentucky or Vandy will seal it without a doubt.

Yeah, our predicament is pretty crappy. Have to win at least 1 out of the next 4 just to avoid another 7-5 season. 3 of those are against top 6 teams, the other @ #21 Miss St. Then Missouri and Vandy still await us. Yeesh, Dooley better hope he finally gets an upset for the first time in 2 1/2 seasons.

Sang, I was thinking this last night when I saw the score, you were right. it is your Defense. If it help or matters, I did wear a Clemson paw on me all day yesterday.
LD you are right, #11 is a bad ass! We love Reed!!! Go Gators!
Besides Tenn vs UGA & Clemson vs BC (for me at least), it doesn't seem to be a big college football day. Of course that's the case when we have an away game & I plan on staying home all weekend.

Hate to say it, but @ UGA.....I'm pretty scurred. Their run game seems solid, Murray is solid, and their defense is only 2nd to West defenses (ala/lsu). Now they get 2 of their key playmakers back on defense. On top of that, we've given up at least 21 points every game, except against d-II Georgia State (where we still gave up 13 points). We could always squeeze out a win or just get blown up. I'd love to see Bray finally show up against an SEC opponent, but I won't be holding my breath. On the upside, there's always the memory of 2009 Repeat?

I didn't even realize, I get to get under sang's skin tomorrow!
I'm going to apologize in advance to all of the wonderful friends I have in Tennessee for what is about to go down starting at 3:30 EST. I love you guys, but you had your chance to don some red and black, get on I-75 and head south. The phones will be open in case any of you want to call me and cry. I will be nice to you, I promise.
My team won today, but the first half looked so bad that I went grocery shopping at half time & missed most of the second half. Clemson's 4-1 though, so I'm a happy Tiger fan right now!
Me too! I feel so bad for the GameDay crew. Having to set up shop in Columbia, at the palatial fairgrounds. Hope they don't get mugged or get stuck by an used syringe.
the Bulldog Nation welcomes my Clemson friends! I have lots of family in Columbia and most of them are Gamecock alums. So, GA-SC is always interesting for me. But it's so easy to despise Steve Spurrier. I respect his abilities as a coach, but the man is a D-bag.
