So everyone who is voting for MMJ appears to have seen them in the past 2-3 weeks.
False. I voted Radiohead after seeing MMJ 3 days ago - my 4th time on this tour alone! I'd traveled great distances to see them 3 of the 4 times. I'm an MMJ fan; I'm a member of their fan club & their board. I've been up close for shows and met many fellow fans. There's a great dynamic at play there: if you dive into MMJ fandom, you can really get immersed in the music experience. That's part of the fun. It's great seeing the same faces at the shows that I've seen in 4 different states this summer.
That said, I still chose Radiohead, even though I've only seen them twice, and to be honest, I really wasn't moved during their show on the Farm this year. Don't get me wrong: it was good but not even in the same galaxy as their ATL arena show in March. It's possible to love both bands for different reasons. One band stirs my heart, making me smile & dance while the other stirs my soul, making me think & feel.
It actually was meant as a joke thread. Somewhere along the lines, it struck a nerve with people, I think.
Sir, two of the most heated discussions that have happened on this board in the last year were discussing cleavage vs. side boob and pancakes vs. waffles (suck it, waffles!).
Law of Inforoo #35: anything + poll = serious business
To be clear, we are voting strictly on their live shows, right? If it's recorded material, Radiohead easily takes it. If it's live performance, Thee Oh Sees rule them all.

Yea, the original quote was in reference to seeing the band "Live".
OP in this thread says "who wins?" I interpreted that as "which is the best band (taking everything they've ever done so far into account), but it seems like the majority of people are either voting based on the feeling that they've caught by seeing them live in recent years OR because they think MMJ could take Radiohead in a fight.

It's getting to the point where we'll need to list our preferences so that we are properly aligned with the right "sides" in here. haha It would make a helluva fun Venn diagram if anyone (*ahem, Phil*) has plenty of free time @ work.
FTR, I'm CWCfbR: TeamCleavage, TeamWaffles, TeamCider/FruityBeer, TeamRadiohead. All you members of TeamSideBoob, Team Pancakes & TeamHops can suck it; TeamMMJ is alright in my book.

How is it possible we are on different sides of everything? This is a hard one for me. I'm fairly new listener to MMJ and also saw RH for the first and second time this year. The Atl radiohead show was the best show I've seen in a very long time, possibly ever. The Bonnaroo one didn't do much for me. I wasn't a big fan of MMJ before seeing them at Forecastle and their live show this weekend wowed me again. SO, if both were playing again at the same time and I had the same ability to see them in the future (currently touring locally) I would go to MMJ because I'm pretty certain I would love the show.
Edited to add that I pretty much agree with what Juggs posted, except for that Mastodon crap, but no one is perfect.

Ha! If I didn't know different, I would think holls was talking about Phish. And phans catch so much sh*t on this (often MMJ-centric) board...
