GRODT is one of the best rap albums of our generation.
I never in a million years expected to hear something like this come out of your mouth.
Sproat was right, you are suspect.
I'm sorry, but it is. Also realize that by "our generation" I basically mean anything after 2000 (should've clarified that), so the majority of quality hip-hop is not included in that statement.
It's hard to look at that album by itself, since everything else Fitty has put out basically equates to trash, but that album was all around quite good.
I also used to wish I was a thug, so that may sway my opinion.
Well if the 50 Cent thing was just to incite discussion, here's another subject to do the same. If the Black Keys were to headline one night, how good would it be for them to do the superjam with very special hip-hop guests ala their project Blakroc. If Wu-Tang's there, RZA's involvement with the project may get other members to participate. Mos could always be a very special guest as well (that's a little more of a stretch, but still). Thoughts? Would that even be able to happen if Black Keys headlined? would they turn around and put them in a tent for the superjam?

GRODT is good, but I wouldn't put it in the top 10 of 2000-2009. Kayne, Outkast, Nas, Madvillain, Common, Eminem, and plenty other great artists put out much better albums I think.
Plus I don't think 50 would play anything other than one of the stages, but I really don't see 50 ever playing Roo. Just my 2 cents.

That show was crazy crowded but I don't think 50 has had as many hits as Ludacris or done as many films as him. I really dont see them that far apart in popularity

The Massacre was solid too, and frankly the only other worthwhile album in 50's discography, but nothing even comes close to GRODT. Flanz was totally in the right IMO when he was it was one of the landmark hip-hop albums of our generation
it wasnt that they werent energetic, theres just something about their show that didnt keep me intrerested. i will admit i saw a previous show on palladia where they brought out jill scott and a lot of special guest that seemed more fun than their bonnaroo show.
bon iver and red hot chili peppers were also let downs for me. maybe because im not a big fan but thats not an excuse to me b/c radiohead blew me away easy. other artist i wasnt a big fan of but were really good or blew me away were fiest and gary clark jr. Sbtrkt was amazing but i already saw them so i expected it. to be honest if it wasnt for radiohead melting my face (in the pit) i would have been very let down for my first bonnaroo.
So you liked Gary Clark and Feist, Radiohead and like the Roots on another performance, but not the Roo performance?
You're confusing the hell outta me, dude.
gary clark had one of the best sets at roo last year.....feist had a very awesome set and i barely knew who she was and radiohead from the pit was face melting.....sorry but the roots couldnt hold my attention like the aforementioned artist.

youre right get rich did have a way bigger impact but the massacre was a better album to me...befor i self destruct was as good as the first two but it wasnt too bad
Captain Murphy would be awesome, especially if we got a Captain Murphy feat. EARL set. And if EARL got his own set.
Some of the awesomeness that is Captain Murphy/Flying Lotus comes from the fact that he has Coltrane blood in him. Well, Alice Coltrane blood, but she was pretty freakin cool too.

I'm just surprised that Feist held your attention, but the Roots bored you.
You seriously think 50 Cent would play a tent at Roo?
Did you think Luda would play one during the day? No, but he did. If Floyd doesn't kill him, 50 could play that slot.
As people already stated, two things: That Luda show was WAY too overcrowded (I actually had to leave the crowd for about 10 minutes to cool off, I was about to overheat) and Fitty is bigger than Luda.
And 50 is crazy. No one has mentioned that, but he's certifiably nuts. He'd make all sorts of demands, which I assume is why he'll never play Roo (not worth the headache). Kanye? Worth that headache. 50? Not so much.

Radiohead, prince, muse, chili peppers, etc...and they are lucky if they get 1 mill, but they normally only get 500 k
then you have third tier : snoop, dre, J z...they get 100 k
then you have 4th tier : black keys, munford byoncee, Prince etcc: they get 50k
