OK, I'm watching the replay of the webcast of Vampire Weekend at Pitchfork, and this really needs to happen. New album, they haven't been there since 2008, it's time. Depending on how well this album is received, I could see them as a pre-headliner, or at worst a Which Stage closer. It's time for them to return.

Maybe it was the alcohol speaking, but when I watched them last night they felt like a big band, or at least a band that could command a big stage/slot. I don't think they're that far off at being a headliner themselves, but that would be a few years into the future, I think.
Saw em' at the Ryman once. Solid live show. Good albums too, specially the first. I'd be down, but it's not going to make or break my Bonnaroo if they do or don't show.
If their third album is as critically/commercially successful as the first two, they're a Which closer at minimum and pre-HL at most. Probably in the 5-10 range. I see them as 2012 Bon Iver next year; headlining second-tier festivals and pre-headlining bigger ones.

They're another one of those bands that avoided the sophomore slump... to the contrary, I think they've gotten better. The show in 08 was alright from what I saw, but nothing that drew me in. I think they'd be a good choice for a mid day Which act.

Provided their 3rd LP doesn't suck, they're going to be way bigger than a mid day Which act. They already are, for that matter. If they're at Bonnaroo, they're closing the Which or pre-headlining the What.
One of my few Roogrets was missing their Thursday show--I was rocking back and forth in my tent in fear thanks to The Sword--but I caught them at Coachella a couple of years later and they are amazing live. They were on the Outdoor Stage at night so I imagine they'd be in a pretty high profile spot when they come back to Roo.
I agree I would love to see them on the farm! Caught their set at lolla in 2009 and it was a blast. I could see them playing the Bon Iver spot from this past year, but I do agree that closing Sunday Which seems like the most practical place for them.
Once of the few bands being speculated about where I'll actually judge someone for not liking them.
This. My one friend HATES them. Then I realized he hates anything that is too mainstream. That's like, the only reason people don't like them. They're pretty light and fun and all around marvelous. I'd be pumped.
And they would have to be on Which. They're a popular band, they need the crowd space.
