I've never really, really listened to David Bowie before. Before you yell at me, just give me a good place to start.
Do you at least know of the major hits? How far hopeless are you?
Spotify browsing tells me I know Space Oddity & Under Pressure by name alone. By skipping through the other top tracks very quickly I don't think I'm very familiar with anything else.
- really? The entire discography? Really? Did you list that in any particular order? I'm looking for which album I should start with.
Not even close to the whole discography. Those are the ones you need to hear. Start with Ziggy Stardust and work your way down the list. Replace one of the Pin Up's Diamond Dogs.

I'm with my boy here. Bowie is one where he changes throughout his discography. Also, you'll listen and start to appreciate how much he has influenced music over the last forty years.

WT-absolute-F, mate. I am adding this to the list, just so I can strike it off once you can tell me if there's life on Mars. It's pretty hard to go wrong with anything from Hunky Dory to Let's Dance. That's Bowie in his weird-ass prime.

I'm pretty sure you already knew this. Besides, on a scale of 1-Monie, how surprised are you really?
And this list of yours is getting pretty long. You better start prioritizing it soon.....

No shame. Bowie went through a bunch of phases - he's a chameleon both in personality/style as well as music. To try and narrow down to a few key periods as a start, I'd go:
Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars - early 70s sound
Diamond Dogs - epitomized the move into the glam/punk sounds that were so influential in the mid-70s
Low and Heroes - these two albums were a move into a more avant-garde sound with Eno and others, very influential on the ambient sounds of the late 70s/early 80s
Let's Dance - move into pop/dance that might have been his most successful (even if not his best top to bottom). This album was HUGE when I was like 15 especially with the early MTV videos that went with it.
Then you can decide if you like any of it and fill in around those albums.
Every time I see Chvrches I like them less than I did before. I really liked the first EP and album. They were even the band I chose to write about for band of the day however many years ago it was they played Roo. This is my 5th time seeing them and I'm completely over it.
I only had to see them once to know it was garbage.

I just learned Bob Moses is not one guy named Bob.
Dude. I feel you. I had to take major shit sometime in the fall when I called Bob Moses a "he" rather than "they' - it is very confusing if you haven't seen a photo of them or read an interview or seen them live.
Also. What a fucking weird band name. Theres an interview that explains its origins, but still, I don't love the name.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
The grad school I went to was a year-round program, but during my first year I took the summer off. I gave a lot of half-truthy reasons why, but the real reason was so that I could go to Bonnaroo for the first time.
