That always seems crowded to me when a popular act is there. The distance between the pavillion and the road is a lot shorter. With What and Which not open, I could hardly walk the path in front of That during Dopapod on Thursday. I'm not sure about the actual space under the tents, but This has lots more open real estate on the outside to enjoy a show from. The crowd in front of the lemonade and hot dog stands along the path between This and the fountain was going nuts during Run the Jewels.
I think I agree with you, there is significantly more real estate around the This. Additions of screens this year made this more apparent. During Tears for Fears I was right up against the screen, and turning around there was a HUGE group of people going way back sitting and watching the screen/show.
This touches on what I felt was the biggest bonus to the screens being added. It felt like a lot of the crowds under the tents were less packed than previous years but they spread out over more real estate. My guess was that more people were willing to fall back because you could still see it without having to be close. It made shows much more enjoyable across the board for me because I hate being in a crush of people.
I always think ThAt has the A that is similar in shape to the arch (and is near the arch). The Other is easy, and This is that last by default. Monie, your trick makes me confused even knowing them well and being fresh off of the farm.
Eh, it works for me. It's also easiest to remember that That is by itself. I find This & That are the two most easily confused for me.
As a matter of fact, I was trying to split two shows this year, looked at the schedule and developed my whole plan by making a circle around centeroo and then going back to What for someone. I fucked up and went to the wrong tent and jacked my whole plan up. I was really annoyed, but not as annoyed as Grump who was with me and mad that I was sprinting all over the place trying to fix my mistake. I blame this more so on just glancing at the schedule and misreading it rather than not knowing the tents though...
I finally just have a show that sticks out so clearly in my mind I can keep them separate, the 2013 superjam was in This. It worked, I didn't have to double check once this year.
For a very long time, I thought that Ryan Adams was Bryan Adams and would not listen to his music. I could not understand how so many of you liked the guy that sang the song from Robin Hood with Kevin Costner.

You should totally go see Ryan Adams and yell "Play Summer of '69!" He loves that.
I find it incredibly irritating to listen to some say they can't stand or don't like this musician or that musician especially if they are of legendary status . Legendary to me means they were there to help get the music we all love , hate , debate , listen to off and running . So as far as I'm concerned bands like Led Zepplin , Jimmy Hendricks and the experience , Neil Young and crazy horse . As well as a plethora more deserve to be treated with respect . All because these are the guys who went out there in the beginning and actually stayed long enough to actually make money at it .

Yes, I too find people's opinions annoying. Everyone should just recognise that my tastes are perfect and their tastes suck (except for when they conveniently line up with my own). That would keep Inforoo interesting.

If Jimi Hendrix deserves so much damn respect, maybe it's time you learned to spell his name right.

That's just what the croocked media wants you to believe.

So I went back and looked at my votes in AotM over the last few years.
If I were to have voted now:
Feb '13 would have been Foals instead of Jim James June '14 would have been Strand of Oaks instead of The Orwells July '14 would have been DJ Dodger Stadium instead of Trampled By Turtles Feb '15 would have been Seryn over Dan Deacon

I can understand why you're moving to a new house El-D. Picking anyone over Jim James/MMJ on Inforoo requires a new safe house residence until the backlash blows over.
I seen Jim four times on that tour: Austin, Newport, Boston, and a small city in western Mass. Plus the MMJ NYE show in Boston right before it. My cred is secure.
It's not that I think Regions of Light is a bad album, it's just now I like Holy Fire a little more.

I'll just nip this in the bud now, to get a head start on the inevitable NP2 backlash from a future "First listen" comment. I've listened to In Rainbows at least 10 times, but OK Computer only 1 time at a music night, everything else Radiohead I've listened to never. Some day soon.

Turn off Led Zeppelin, and go put on Kid A. Trust me, you'll thank me later.

Never in my life have I turned off a Zeppelin album that I've committed to listening to all of and I don't plan on starting now. I'll put it on after this. I suppose the White Rabbit has finally come to show me to Wonderland.

I would suggest listening to The Bends, Ok Computer and then Kid A. Just to get a feel for their evolution during that period. Based on reading his posts, I do think he'll dig Kid A the most but it's not like those other two are flaming turds.
That's my suggestion Decaanter Ignore at your own peril.

Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
I got so excited about the idea of you listening to those three albums back to back for the first time ever, that I wanted to join in on the journey. The Bends is now blasting through my bluetooth speakers on the main floor of my house (all roomies are out n about right now), and I'm dancing around ferociously.
I think everyone should be doing this right now. Join me and Nico in the glory.

I wouldn't call it backlash because that implies a certain amount of anger almost. I am just more surprised that you haven't gotten around to them sooner because Radiohead seems like something that would be right up your alley, and you are pretty diligent in listening to music.
P.S. Don't ignore Amnesiac. P.P.S. One of the unfortunate things about Radiohead is that they're a band that you see a lot of difference in opinion on what their best album is, so if it gets opened up to enough people, you will be told that you "have" to listen to every single album by someone.

This is true, I don't take it as animosity. When I first came on here I would never post that it was my first album because I thought there was some sense of elitism going on. I would post my second listen and make no mention about it and have you all assume I'd heard an album dozens of times. I was nervous. You folks don't bother me like that, nor have you for a long time now.
Listening to Radiohead has always been something I wanted to do. I loved In Rainbows when it came out (when I was finally starting to get a grasp on what other kinds of music I enjoyed). I think I was just overwhelmed by the amount of people that enjoyed them and was weirdly intimidated. I don't think this is uncommon by any means, but it certainly isn't rational, because goddamn if this isn't great. I'm gonna do with this band what I like to do with most bands (and movies for that matter): Go in with next to no prior knowledge and just let the cards fall.
Also, I'll add Amnesiac to the list. There are obviously people on here who's opinions I value more than others, and yours is definitely one of them. I'm sure I'll get dumped with recommendations. After this one and Kid A I might have to listen to something else for a couple hours though, otherwise my brain is going to go into overdrive.
You're right though, this is absolutely up my alley.
