Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
^ count me in for that, too! Heck, I could even drive down to Mayo's so we can have a boozetastic viewing session/slumber party thing. Ooh, and CKS: if we cam it up w/you while we watch, it'll be like a group conversion to the Church of The Wire! Can I get an amen from the congregation?

I feel like I should watch The Wire also. I have never been much of a television viewer, but started watching Breaking Bad after the third season and was hooked. I'm sure I will love The Wire too. Any show that uses a Tom Waits song as it's theme has to be really good.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

I feel like a loser (come on Beck show up at some fest) if no one ever comments or likes any of my posts. I guess it's like the FB friend thing which I think is lame but since I wear rose colored glasses sometimes, I don't equate the two .....
I've never listened to Prince. I know the Purple Rain chorus just from people singing. That's it.
I've been meaning to get that off my chest for a while.
How is this even possible? When were you born? Apparently after 1999?
1983.
I'm not anti-Prince or have I ever tried to avoid Prince. I've just never knowingly crossed paths with Prince. They only people I know that even listen to Prince are Inforooers.

When you say listened, you mean like, sat down and listened to albums from start to finish right? Cause surely you've had some general exposure from TV/movies/etc...?

I remember once at high school spring break, my friend's mom and her gay friend were our chaperones at the beach. A song came on the radio and they started groovin - hard. I asked what is was and they said, "Prince." I don't remember the words "Purple Rain" or anything else about it. I think that is the only time I knowingly listened to Prince.
You know, last time this thread was going, I was going to post that I just didn't get the My Morning Jacket and The Avett Brothers love. I have since seen the light and am super excited that I get to see both bands in the next 2 weeks.
Take a look at the Bonnaroo lineup this year: Between Macca and Nas, the only thing I would care about on that list is the Wu Tang Clan. I'd only see The National if they were unopposed or had nothing else better in that timeslot. Ditto Wilco, before the coma sets in. So three of the top 15 names I give a shiz about. Even Forecastle did better than that.
Speaking of Forecastle, if I had to pick between that and Roo for one big fest trip in 2014 - I'd be going to Louisville.

Jim James will smite you with his beard of awesome for not believing in his Superjam.
On the subject of fashion (wrt: sunglasses): I couldn't care less about it. I'm 1) somewhat colorblind and 2) interested more in practicality and comfort than looking fashionable, whatever that means.
This extends to my taste in music. If I like it, I don't care frack-all about what other people think. But consequently, I don't spend a whole lot of time worrying about what other people are listening to, either.

I've also never listened to Prince. Welcome to the club.
Me either. I'm sure I would recognize some of his songs from popular culture, but if you asked me to sing a few notes of one of his songs... I couldn't. I can't even think of how Purple Rain goes.

Okay, so if I'm going to be smacking ALLL of you in the face, there's going to have to be some organization involved. Everybody pull a number, and get in line. This is going to take awhile.

Dave... the Beatles!? They're so good dammit!
For the billionth time, I think the Beatles are okay. They're not terrible, but they're not far and away the best band ever like some people want to say. This is not directed toward anyone in particular here, but I have a great deal more loathing for Beatles superfans because they, on the other hand, are far and away the most stubborn and ridiculous fans in music. I have never ran into fans of any artist that consistently put the blame for me not liking an artist on me like I have some kind of deficiency in my music listening ability or am just too lazy to put forth sufficient effort to "get" them.

Beatles superfans drive me crazy as well. Haha I'm not trying to blame you, just more surprised. Based on other music that you listen to, I would have taken you for a Beatles fan.

Every time you post something like this, I die a little on the inside.
