Every year there are always a few bands who play on Thursday or in the Cafe tents who get promoted to the main Bonnaroo lineup in following years because of strong performances. Who did you see or hear about who deserve a promotion this year?
Here's what I see as likely based on shows I saw and buzz from the boards: Moon Taxi- That should be their starmaking show. They seem to have made a lot of people's Top 5 list. Could see them paired up in a LN tent next year with whatever jam act Bonnaroo books (probably Bisco or YMSB, who are both due back).
Dirty Guv'nahs- Another Thursday band that seems to have made a big impression on a lot of people.
White Denim- I didn't see them but they're popping up on a lot of people's lists.
Art vs. Science- Has any band ever worked harder to earn a slot on the main lineup? At this point, I'll be surprised if they aren't closing a Thursday tent next year.
Alabama Shakes- Reviews of their show have been mixed, but they're probably already too big for Thursday. I suspect their next trip to the farm will be on What or Which.
Deep Dark Woods- Didn't go to their set but was near enough to the tent waiting for Radiohead to hear most of it. Tight band.
Valient Thorr- Should have never been a Cafe act in the first place. Should take up Bonnaroo's "token Metal band" spot next year.

North MS Allstars played on the sonic stage, but they should of had a stage spot, would of been better than a lot of tent acts
Haven't they played Bonnaroo before? I don't know if it's because I've seen them so many times before but for some reason I want to say they've played before.

They definitely played in 2004. They kicked off the We Have Arrived DVD.
My vote goes to the Cave Singers. Had no idea who they were before I caught their thursday set and I'm a believer now. They would make a great afternoon Which stage show.
I saw "The Main Squeeze" one early afternoon and was very impressed with their potential. They are going to be good. Check out their new album. Thursday tent in the next couple years hopefully.

+1 on Art vs. Science (bummed that I discovered them after coming home from Roo). +1 on Alabama Shakes. +1 on Dale Jr. Jr., White Denim, Phantogram... fuck make it the whole Other Tent on Thursday. That run was incredible.
I was lying in a burned out basement With the full moon in my eyes. I was hoping for replacement When the sun burst thru the sky. There was a band playing in my head And I felt like getting high.
Kendrick Lamar, maybe will be like childish gambino and get a return (likely not the which stage like gambino though). I was kind of surprised he was on Thursday this year and he's only getting bigger. Yelawolf, possibly if he drops a killer followup to Radioactive. He's done impressive things on Shady Records already with his album and the cyphers and is a wicked rapid fire lyricist. He's got to keep at it though. Could be back in the future, but probably not immediately next year Big Gigantic, I could see them getting a late night sometime in the future.
