The real question: will this be big enough to headline?
I would say yes. He's #4 at Outside Lands: after Metallica, Stevie Wonder and Neil Young and before Foo Fighters.
I'd say he's just as big as Arcade Fire and possibly even bigger with the Bonnaroo crowd. If you like the White Stripes, you are going to like Jack White obviously.
He would at least be in the Black Keys or MMJ spot of 2011. Probably too big for Which and anything during the day would be kind of a letdown.
Jack White could definitely headline Roo. His new album continues to blow up. He headlined Hangout, which I know isn't on the level of Roo, but there were a lot of naysayers regarding him headlining, and he fracking changed lives with his set. really unreal, with two bands and as deep a catalog as he has. lets do this!
Roo seems to be a year late on things, so it totally makes sense for 2013.
Yeah Radiohead was everywhere in 2012. Same with RHCP. We just got leftovers.
But seriously, I'd love for Jack White to be there in 2013. I think he'd be a perfect #4 on the lineup. He's #4 at ACL and Outside Lands this year, which are about the same size as Roo. The only way he ends up a headliner, I think, is if he gets bigger between now and February, which is entirely possible.
Jack White into another big name on the What stage would be great. Like Jay-Z > Stevie.
This. I think he's probably on the same level as Arcade Fire in terms of draw, so having him headline after a bigger-than-normal pre-headliner would be the best fit...
-When I Hear My Name -Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground -Blue Orchid -Passive Manipulation -Red Rain -Death Letter -My Doorbell -Hotel Yorba -Same Boy You've Always Known -Lovesick -Little Ghost -We're Going to Be Friends -The Hardest Button to Button -Black Math -The Nurse -I Just Don't Know What to Do With Myself
Encore: -Ball and Biscuit -Seven Nation Army -Screwdriver
That'd be great as well. I'd love to see that happen actually. Sucks because I'd be missing out on other shows during this time but awesome because well....it'd be awesome.

I was thinking more of "Jack White followed by a bigger name" but I'd certainly be happy if Jack played second. Just wasn't sure if he'd definitely get that spot but I'd like it.
I don't really see Jack opening for anyone at this point. It would have to be in the realm of Sat. 2010 with another act that could play LN What and how many of those are there even? Daft Punk? Rage? Prince? Jay Z again? Doesn't seem too likely.
A MMJ/AF situation with someone before Jack seems like the better bet.

I used to think Jack White > Neil Young but that was before Jack released his solo album and has headlined some festivals. Now I'm not sure that Neil would be considered "bigger" even though in most of our hearts we know the truth.
It would have to be someone pretty big that you named (or someone on that level), you're right. Maybe if they get Led Zeppelin back together they can play off Jack and Jimmy Page's meeting in "It Might Get Loud". Of course....that won't be happening
Turtles are, actually quite sexy, if you think about it. I’m getting an erection just thinking about turtles. No, not a stripper named turtles, that’s not funny. Actual turtles.

I read an interview earlier where Jack said he didn't really care for playing festivals. He says playing in a club is much better because you're there for the music not the party, plus at a club people don't wander off. I'm on my phone so I don't have the link but I'll post it later. He also talked about the Radiohead collab in it.
It Might Get Loud superjam 2013 ITM said it first!
A superjam of 3 great guitarists. And that's all. No drums. No bass. Just 3 guys trading solos and then looking at each other to see if someone can top it.
