What you got back home, little sister, to play your fuzzy warbles on? I bet you got little save pitiful, portable picnic players. Come with uncle and hear all proper! Hear angel trumpets and devil trombones. You are invited.
Beach Boys, had no idea that they would put on such a fun and great sounding show at their age, and it was great to be reminded of how many classic songs they have in their catalog.
Rodrigo y Gabriela got down! CUBA just intensified their music and had me and everyone in that field dancing like fools. Wasn't expecting them to have quite that effect and oh they did.
I knew the Bad Brains show was going to be crazy, but had no idea it was going to be that crazy. The crowd went absolutely bananas, most intense show I've ever been to. HR is a nut, and Dr. Know and the guys still play just as hard and fast as they used to. Legendary show.

Shahidah Omar- I heard an amazing voice and sound from a small stage. So happy I took a seat and checked it out. By the end a crowd of about 40-50 people were dancing and and enjoying the sounds.
GroupLove - I enjoyed there singles but in person this band had so much energy. It was the best way to end my first Bonnaroo. So Happy I caught these guys. The 6 people crowd surfing the same time was magical.
Little Dragon - So talented. All I can say I was amazed
Sbtrkt - Wasn't planning to stay the entire time, but happy I did. I love every second of these guys. Voice was hypnotic and bass kept me moving my hips.
White Denim - Loved their record D and was excited for the show by watching some live Youtube vids, but geez louise did they blow me away. As I said in another thread, their 15 minute opening jam of It's Him was unreal. Such a fantastic show.
Das Racist - I guess I'm in the minority here, but I loved this show. Those guys are really talented and extremely hilarious. I thought Heems calling out people specifically for not turning around and looking at the fountain was hilarious.
SuperJam - Was not expecting in a million years for someone like D'Angelo to just walk out on stage and him and ?uestlove and 7 others to put out one of the funkiest and most fun shows I've ever been to. That was a once in a lifetime type show and I was so happy to witness it.
The Shins - I had heard that their shows were hit or miss, so I wasn't expecting much from the show, but this show was definitely a hit. Band was very tight and unexpectedly a bit psychedelic, and made me into a bigger fan. The vastly improved sound and sight views of the Which Stage helped as well.

The Beach Boys - I was scared they wouldn't sound good....they were amazing.
Bon Iver - I haven't gotten into the new album (I loved Emma) but the way it played out with that full band was spot on. He/They literally brought me to tears. I have a whole new appreciation.
PHISH! - I'm sort of a "Jam Band Hater" traditionally. I saw them before in 09 on Sunday and had fun but still didn't really get why people loved it so much. Right from the get-go it was like they were talking to me (TVOTR...Seriously? Nasty!!!). I danced my ass of the whole time and had an absolute blast. Perfect ending to a perfect weekend.
Sarah Jarosz!!! I'd be surprised if anyone lucky enough to be in this small crowd didn't agree. Traditionally, I listen to more indie/alternative/rock but over the last couple of years I've become a proud fan of bluegrass. I knew she'd be good so I ditched my friends to see her but was not ready for how much it effected me. For her age Sarah seemed to have great presence on stage and seemed fully in control even though she was so happy and grateful to be there. Her voice is just gorgeous and I was mesmerized by the whole thing.

Fitz and The Tantrums: I love their record but when I watched a few clips youtube I didn't think the show would be all that. WRONG! Noelle Scaggs took their stage show to the next level and we had one hell of a time!
Skrillex. I expected him to be bad but some goodfriends wanted to go. I kinda hated on it but damn, what an awesome time. Good lookin girls and that 40 foot Skrillex transformer while enjoying a portobello sandwich. Sickness. Gza spitting truth and fire in the end was awesome.
Big Freedia. Hard hitting hip hop club music. Not good on record but amazing live.
moon taxi. unreal f-ing killing in the name of. rage
Only seen them do a few songs, but that was one of the songs I caught...I thought they did it great.
For me it was Phish and Kenny Rodgers. I guess it was more of being surprised that Lionel Richie came on stage with Kenny on Sunday day and Kenny came on stage with Phish Sunday night...but I walked away from both sets pleasantly surprised.
I went to Rod y Gab with a couple of my buddies to claim a comfy spot for Radiohead. We ended up going nut dancing, I couldn't stop gettin' wild!!! They were all such amazing musicians. They were definitely one of my top 3 favorite sets and I was just planning to go chill on my blanket and wait for Radiohead. I think I actually enjoyed Rod y Gab more than Radiohead... their set didn't have much energy and I couldn't help but move during Rod y Gab. So glad I saw them live!!
And I went to Orgone with a buddy because no one else wanted to see them. I had SUCH a blast! They were amazing and so fun!
EDIT: Moon Taxi was a total surprise for me, too! I was gonna go to White Denim but I got sucked into their jams.
So amazingly FUNKY!!!!! I had no idea what to expect with these guys, other than they toured with Rebelution last year on all stops except for my town, so I was curious. The bassist had so much energy and the percussionist in the front was master of the beat. I could not stop moving.
Didn't know Mariachi El Bronx but they were wicked!
YES! I checked them out because I am a fan of Mad Caddies and Ellwood, and I know these are some california dudes that are talented musicians. This set BLEW ME AWAY. I was most impressed with how HAPPY the band was to be there! The good time they were having on stage definitely transferred to the crowd. And the 100+ people conga line was sooo fun. How could we not jump in on that?
Flogging Molly - Never was a regular listener of their stuff but got in there close and had the time of my life.
Only Flogging Molly song I've ever heard before was "Drunken Lullabies" but now I am full fledged fan. Holy crap this + Bad Brains was UNBELIEVABLE together. I figured it would be hot and I would not ever find a good mosh at Roo, boy was I wrong... Didn't leave the pit at all.
Bon Iver. I went to high school with Justin Vernon and never got into any of his bands then, and when I heard Bon Iver on the radio I thought it was meh at best. And usually when an artist layers their vocals it means they can't sing, so I assumed the same about Bon Iver. But I thought the show was excellent, the musicianship was great and I definitely have a new appreciation for them!

Surprised it was only said once I think, moon taxi. Only found about them post lineup, really only 3 weeks before roo. Wow did they bring energy, they looked like they were having the most fun on stage too. Orgone was great too, and will be playing in my area real soon! Gary Clark impressed me..

Temper Trap killed it, they had such a huge sound and I thought they couldn't have pulled off the main stage but I didn't want their set to end.
Santigold is the enhanced version of Nikki Manaj that actually makes fun music and not radio teen super pop. When she had everyone on the stage it looked so sick and everyone looked like they were having the time of their lives. Thats what Bonnaroo is all about and I'm sure for all those people that was the highlight of their trip.
The security guard taking down the guy that tried to attacked Santigold was awesome.
Went to the umphreys show due to all the hype on their thread and all I have to say is wow! One of the best experiences of my life... Almost 4 hours of straight dancing was tough to deal with on Saturday though
