Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo in 2013!!
Soberoo is a group of passionate music fans who choose to remain NO NO WORD!!! and alcohol free at the festival. Soberoo is not affiliated with Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous or any other 12-step organization. It’s just a group of friends gathering to offer each other support—and some traction in an otherwise slippery environment. The group meets at noon and 4pm, from Thursday-Sunday, inside Planet Roo. Look for the yellow balloons and friendly faces at the Soberoo information table.
I noticed this year building up to the fest there were a handful of threads inquiring about other sober fans attending Roo. I'm hoping to keep this thread active with info for 2013 for all those interested in staying sober at Bonnaroo and doing so with other like-minded people.
The accommodations Bonnaroo provided to our group were beyond awesome in 2012. Not only did we have a booth with a shaded and private area in the back to hang out and have meetings in, Bonnaroo also provided us with a sober camping area. We had eight volunteers that worked tirelessly before and during the festival, manning the booth and chairing meetings. So a huge thank you is in order to both Bonnaroo and our volunteers for being so amazing!
With upwards of 70 people attending some of the meetings, it all appeared to be a success, and although nothing is guaranteed, we hope Bonnaroo will have us back again next year. If you are interested in Soberoo, it would be great if you could like us on Facebook using the link provided above. We are sure Bonnaroo is looking at the numbers on there, so the more the merrier.
If you have any questions at all about Soberoo specifically or the sober Bonnaroo experience in general, please fire away. I'm also happy to communicate with anyone via PM.
