1. Ben Folds Five - I've waited quite a long time to cross that one off my bucket list. Met and exceeded all of our expectations.
2. Charles Bradley - Incredible emotional performance
3. Alabama Shakes and Soul Rebels second line parade after the set.
4. Radiohead - amazing as always, though the crowd was a bit intense and territorial
5. Friday night w/ the Word, Dumpstaphunk, and Big Freedia - an epic Friday evening indeed!
Honorable Mention - stunning performance by Bon Iver, a wonderful last minute decision to pick an amazing Mogwai show over fighting the crowd at the Roots, an incredibly loud Battles show, the brilliant Steven Wright, conga line in Mariachi El Bronx, Alice Cooper blowing everyone away, blowing up balloons and throwing them into the audience at The Fruit Bats, opening the festival at a raucous Rubblebucket show, amazing pretzels and samosas, many new friends, multiple runs through the fountain, wandering aimlessly into the solar and sonic stages to hear great world music, a lucky set-up in camp Lando Calrissian, a wonderful shade - for- beer trade with our camping neighbors, other camping neighbors that brought karaoke and life-size truth-or-dare jenga, amazing late-night conversations with strangers, perfect weather, and an altoghther unforgettable experience. I hope to do this again, and I can't put the true pleasure of the weekend into words.
It's interesting to me how many people have Alice Cooper or the Superjam in their Top 5. So sad those shows were on at the same time when there was such a vacuum after 2:00 that night. I wish they'd either moved one of them to Friday or moved one of them to the 2nd half of Saturday so those of us who didn't go to Skrillex could catch both.
Poor kid? At least he knows what Juggs looks like.
1. Alice Cooper 2. Radiohead 3. Ben Howard 4. Bad Brains 5. Gary Clark Jr.
Alice Cooper isn't on a ton of these lists, but when he is he's at the top. The show was everything I hoped it would be and more. Just an incredibly fun time.

Superjam (Holy Shit Awesome) Flying Lotus (killed it. When he chugged that bottle of whiskey, looked at it, then chugged again... damn.) Puscifer (Bad Brains>Flogging Molly was a three hour mosh pit but it was worth it.) Big Gigantic (killed it two nights in a row. I think they're on their way up) The Avett Brothers (so much emotion, second biggest surprise of the weekend.)
HM: Radiohead, left during supercollider to get a spot at Blackstar>FlyLo, no regrets Gary Clark Jr Beach Boys (much better if you didn't watch them) BlackStar (memories a little fuzzy for this one, but I remember it being awesome) Skrillex (hell of a party)
A great Bonnaroo. Only 2010 tops it. My fiancee and I saw 37 bands over the weekend, including a ton of full sets. Lastly: if they're going to open on Wednesday night from now on, I am going to avoid the Other Tent on Thursday every year. It was miserable at Sleigh Bells last year and it was almost as bad at Phantogram this year. At least at This and That you can see from further away...
1. Radiohead 2. Bon Iver 3. Gary Clark Jr. 4. Avette Brothers 5. Temper Trap (haven't seen this one on here yet)
I cant believe all my top 5 were on the the What stage. This is probably why I didn't have my best Bonnaroo experience ever, just seems like the schedule didn't work out great for me.
Dawes (Both sets were amazing) The Civil Wars (Sing-a-long with every song) Avett Brothers (Party in the pit) Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. (Great energy, great harmonies) We Are Augustines (So glad I left the Chili Peppers for their set. Also killed it on the Sonic stage. Best energy of the weekend)
HM: Punch Brothers, Alabama Shakes, Gary Clark Jr.
No exact order... Cherub (so much energy it blew me away, killed their songs, destroyed their audience!) Art Vs Science (MAGIC FOUNTAIN!!!) Beach Boys (thought I was going just to see a legendary band, but left blown away. Impressed by their stage presence, and vocal capabilities at the age they are...) Major Lazer (in the sh!t and it was awesome) Dispatch (seen them dozens of times, and some really cool collaborations, banjo w/ Flying Horses was awesome)
I was lying in a burned out basement With the full moon in my eyes. I was hoping for replacement When the sun burst thru the sky. There was a band playing in my head And I felt like getting high.

1. Radiohead (I got down pretty close, outside the pit, and the light show was spectacular. I thought Thom also was pretty engaged and into the show, and Jonny, as always, rocked). 2. Phish (The start of the second set, with Golden Age-2001 was near perfect for me, as a phan). 3. The Joy Formidable (They swayed back and forth between melodic and wall of sound - loud sound). 4. The Roots (I'd never known their guitarist was so good. I thought he killed it, as did the band). 5. (Tie) Superjam and Santigold. (I loved both, and I honestly experienced so many musical highlights this year it was hard to create a top 5).
I had an amazing, but bittersweet time this year. After 7 straight years of attending Bonnaroo, I've decided to pursue other festivals and travel destinations. Next up for me this summer is Newport Folk Festival. Here are my favorite Bonnaroo 2012 sets:
1. Radiohead 2. Mogwai 3. Kurt Vile 4. War on Drugs 5. Blind Pilot (reminiscent of Bright Eyes @ Bonnaroo 2006)

This is most definitely subject to change. We just got home at 6 this morning so I haven't fully processed the amazing-ness of the weekend.
In no particular order RHCP: We got into the pit (after the WORST line I've ever been in) and they absolutely rocked it. I was so close to Flea I thought my brain would explode.
Umphreys: No expectations going into this show. Was still tripping a bit from the residual "veggie" intake of Radiohead and danced my a$$ right off! Loved every second of this show!
Radiohead: To be honest this is only on here because I FINALLY got to see them. I'm a huge fan of their old stuff, so the setlist didn't do much for me. Light show was amazing, crowd was super into it and RH looked like they were really into it as well.
Beach Boys: Amazing. Amazing. Amazing. Dance party, corn party and gin in my camelbak. Loved every second of this show, sung almost every word and cried during "God only knows".
Ludacris: "What's your Fantasy" was incredible. I'm not a huge huge Luda fan, but he killed it. It was also the first full set I saw alone...and it was liberating and I danced so much.
Honorable mentions: Fun. (was NOT expecting them to be so good), Alabama Shakes (a bit too far back), Flogging Molly (4th time seeing them so they can't be on the top 5 lol), Cave Singers, Two Door Cinema Club, Black Star, Bon Iver.
I hate that I missed Lionel Ritchie, Pusifer and Fitz and the Tantrums.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go on an overnight drunk, and in 10 days I'm going to set out to find the shark that ate my friend and destroy it. Anyone who wants to tag along is more than welcome.
I tried to find NoD and the Now Playing crew before Battles and could not find anyone. I was wearing my Black Lips shirt thinking it would be a dead give away who I was. Oh well
