I'm sure this has been discussed in here, and I'm sure most people are against this idea, but I definitely think Green Day are at bonnaroo this year. Hopefully if they are, they play friday, and there is a legend on saturday.
I'd go see Green Day on the farm in a minute. I'm not sure what all the negativity is about them.

I agree that half of The Who shouldn't be called The Who. But Daltrey/Townsend would probably still be an alright show. It wouldn't get me to Bonnaroo, but I'd watch it.
And Elton John would kill on the farm. It would be a bigger sing along than The Beach Boys and a lot less geriatric.
Prince/McCartney/Elton John + Foo Fighters/Muse + MMJ/Jack White might get me back on the farm. But life stuff is coming up. Unlike the automatic sale of previous years, the line-up will have to sell me this time.

Those groups have all been active in recent years. I reserve the broken dreams category more for the likes of Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Velvet Underground, Talking Heads, The Smiths, The Byrds, Joni Mitchell, Sly and the Family Stone, Roxy Music, Sex Pistols (though they actually have reunited it now occurs to me), Television, Outkast, Black Sabbath, etc.

Weird that this thread got split into 2. This one has more pages. I'll re-post.
Since this is a wishlist and not the Thread of Broken Dreams I would be the happiest person on earth of they would invite the Sun Ra Arkestra to play. If they could bring Afrocubism they could bring the Arkestra. Marshall Allen the current leader of the Arkestra has been with the band since 1958!!! Marshall is 88 years old and still plays the most crazy, blistering fast skronk/Be-Bob you could imagine, as well incredibly tasteful melodic stuff. The Arkestra it self dates back to 1956.
