He's like you made an über troll by taking the worst parts of me (the utter disregard for other people's opinions), Phi (cluttering up threads with memes and adding nothing to a discussion) and Jess (an apparent belief that everyone else is the problem and/or arrogance without self awareness).
With the amount of Radiohead fans on here, not one of them has agreed with the OP that LN sucked. Maybe because its just a stupid comment. You couldn't possibly see all the LN acts so how would you know if they all sucked?
This was my favorite LN in my 9 years at Bonnaroo. Their have been better sets (Jay-Z) and better superjams ('07), but overall I was blown away at the depth and crowd atmosphere. Got upclose for The Word (which was awesome even without Chew), and still got to catch the last 30 min of Blackstar. Wandered over to Umphrey and had a great time, but I only had the energy for the first 2 hours. God I wish I could have seen the rest. I was underwhelmed by the lack of big names at the Superjam, but I'm so glad I stayed. The band sounded like they had been playing together for years, but had only rehearsed for 6 hours. And GZA was a perfect ending. It got really crazy in that tent once the Skrillex crowd made it over. If you had a bad time at late night this year, I feel very sorry for you and the rest of the 12 Unchained fans

i had a great time at late nights. major lazer was an awesome party, flying lotus was even better live than i had expected (lights could have been better but thats not the music so no real complaint here). alice cooper put on one of the most awesome shows i have seen and GZA was just amazing. my late nights had little conflict (ML vs. Black Star) and i made it to all of them. awesome weekend.
What about Thursday night? Kendrick>MiMosa>Big Gigantic>Cherub
Went to see Kendrick (currently my favorite rapper). We were up close, and the people around us were cool. I LOVED MiMosa's set (probably my favorite DJ set of the weekend). It was so high energy! Then I caught the very end of Big Gigantic and went over to see Cherub. All of this, mostly by myself, because my friends went too hard at Kendrick and were sleepy. It was easily one of my favorite LN's of the trip.

I agree to an extent (a Flylo set always wins in my book) that LN 2012 was a little underwhelming. I thought Major Lazer was sh!t honestly. Dude rarely used transitions. He'd just completely stop the song, say something stupid, and play the next. There was really no flow in my opinion. I'll admit the bass was infectious and lured me over to his tent but I quickly moved on after about five minutes. Just not for me I guess. Alice Cooper sounded great! Reggie Watts scoring the Last Sarfighter was also a one of a kind LN treat I'm glad I caught! Too cool!
Definitely would have liked to see Ludacris, SBTRKT, Battles, or Little Dragaon take one of those coveted LN spots though...
And what the hell ever happened with A$ap Mob?! Would have loved to have them in that unchained spot.
I apologize for not knowing that this board was the litmus test for an EDM being good or not. I was just looking for an electro/house DJ that plays till 6 or 7AM.
Get used to that elitists round these parts. Make a thread that says radiohead quacking sucks and see what happens.
Moreso it's just that a lot of people on here listen to EDM as home listening music, to really enjoy, not just to RAGE FCKING FACE ALL NIGHT LONG. I think that is where the biggest backlash comes, that a lot of people treat EDM like it's a type of party, not a genre of music, and therefore have zero standards for what they go to see. If it's loud, and has a siqq light show, that's all anyone cares about. It's even more frustrating when, just because you don't view that the same way, you get chalked up as an "elitist pretentious hipster snob," which is really just reverse snobbery anyway. "oh, you don't just listen to every random untzface that has a light show? You f*cking hipster."
The hate I'm getting for not enjoying the LN is pretty ridiculous. Glad you all had a good time. I thought 2010 and even last year, were light years superior to this year. Well Late Night anyway.
It's not that you didn't enjoy them. It's that you said they sucked, which is basically like stating a fact (even though it's probably just your opinion). The word choice is key though. So many people who disagree that "the late nights sucked this year" will give you crap about it.
